Climbed trees to get her ball if it landed in the branches—determination, an 8.5Kg dog without the sharp claws of a cat 2m up in the branches of my pear tree. Had to admire her grit.

So do foxes. We can shoot foxes tho that doesn’t have any great impact on their numbers. Feral cats. OTOH, are mostly nocturnal and sparsely distributed over the countryside. Shooting them doesn’t reduce numbers at all.

Shooting is not effective.

2 kittens assumes equal numbers male and female cats.

A female will bring up 4 kittens once a year, sometimes 2 litters of 4 kittens a year.

One trial, dog near perfect, jump through the tyre and done.

Ummm trainer had forgotten to toilet walk the dog. Yup, it pooped then jumped through the tyre. All this being recorded and watched by thousands there and online. Oh dear.

I miss him ... can't bear to lose another pet.... maybe they'd lose me now, though..

Yup, I did mention my age and whether I should adopt another dog but they saw no problem so I adopted Socks and happy I did so!

They say having a pet improves your health… I love those special therapy dogs that go into hospitals to give patients a bit of joy.

Ha! When I stayed with sis her sis-in-law would take Socks for a run on the big back lawn. Socks would do that for a while then take off at the speed of light for the front of the house—and eat all the food left for the cats (one inside cat, one outside cat.)

Sis had to move the cat food to a fenced–off area  ;D ;D ;D
