A funny story…we went with my son and his wife… I spotted a Red Dot Museum and I knew it was about innovations etc and eager to go… but family were all “err umm no thanks” and I’m trying to explain about this red dot award … how even Tupperware got one for a microwave item etc
Can’t convince them… hubby came in with me by default … or else! >:( ;D |

No imagination! Too boring for them ;D They would rather go have drinks …. One day they will understand. Here’s another funny story about museums… In China… our bus load went there, only 2 of us lasted the distance to stay in the museum while none of them were seen anywhere! I was fascinated and stayed till last minute when I had to go to a meeting place They all looked at me and said “There she is!” I looked at them and said “There you all are! Where were you all?!” Seems most are just not interested in museums I guess. ::) What impressed me though… were how many young Chinese adults were in the museum taking a keen interest in their country’s history. |

Raffles Hotel.
I have photos on my desktop computer so I’m just putting photos I took from my phone for now. But once inside (there’s a line of people waiting to get a table) We get this hessian bag filled with tiny peanuts! And it’s customary to shell the peanuts and throw shells on the floor! We had a Singapore Sling drink too. Anyway… all this discarded peanut shells on the floor kind of made me feel like getting a broom and sweep it up ;D ![]() |

Getting back to the Red Dot awards…I first became aware when I bought a Tupperware item and it had this award…
In the museum… there’s a history of stuff with the award that we now take for granted as everyday stuff. Things like faster/sleek designed push bikes and aero dynamic helmets. Apple Watches… and….Apple rings! And drones! There’s always a beginning and it’s new and wow … and then it’s normal everyday. ![]() |

Amazing photos there. The waterfall looks really neat... until someone empties some soap-suds powder into it. :D
Innovation is good. |

Notice workers taking a smoko break… it’s law to be a certain distance from any doorway/entry.

Gee. Australian architecture seems 'boring' in comparison.
Guess the Opera House (thanks to a Dane) was a one off. |

You can always go to the new Penrith Beach. Almost $2 million and only 63 kms from the ocean lol.
Be quick though it's only open until March. https://www.9news.com.au/national/new-south-wales-news-western-sydney-to-get-its-own-beach-in-penrith/619e985d-65f5-4fe0-a2e2-3605f8e7a331 I don't begrudge it out there, it gets as hot as Hades, but it isn't a beach. They should call it a water hole or something closer to what it is. ![]() |

It’s more a lake than beach. Still looks nice for those that live nearby to go somewhere close to swim safely and refresh. |

It's a Beach Sophia.
Just like the one (sand) I went to often at the back of Yanco along the Murrumbidgee R. I was pleased to hear of that for the 'Westies'. Now, if they can only do that for the rest of Inland Australia. Penrith and the Basin West can get very hot. No coastal breeze gets there. In fact, it was so bloody hot, while working construction out at Cobbitty in SW Sydney that I was having my 3rd heatstroke and decided to finish up in Sydney once and for all. The money just wasn't worth it. Never looked back. |

That’s good.. having these beaches inland for suburbs too far from beaches on hot days. It looks lovely and clean and refreshing too. I remember in our youth, living in rural, the few times we drive over an hour in a hot car with no air con… to the beach… then get back in car on hot vinyl seats to drive over an hour back home again. It was any wonder we took to swimming in the muddy dams to cool off more often. Was good that. Thank goodness for farm dams. |
