I enjoyed my first stint as a Mod. I saved a worthy Board from deletion (but couldn't save Real Estate too). Kept it ticking along with an improved foundation and then along came Sophia of whom I saw 'potential'! like a Talent Scout would. I asked her and the powers that be about making her the New Mod as I saw in her something more 'precise' about the theme of Travel and a grace that would make her a good Mod. In other words: I was unselfishly putting the good of the Forum as a whole, before myself. It was, as I deem it a positive and constructive move upon two accounts both in saving the Board and giving it a RENAISSANCE via Sophia.

So for me. Being a Mod was a 'Positive' experience.
Some on the other hand have ruined Boards in a very negative way.

The Modship is only as good as you want it to be Carl.

Ask FD for Corona-Covid Board and he might give it to you outright rather than dissolving it into the Health & Wellbeing Board (to which Gordon, didn't want Covid or Women's Issues when it came down to it). You too might 'Save a Board'.  ;)

Yeah. It's pretty poor form for Mods to be so 'flippant' in their bans of Members from their Boards because they just can't plain 'Cope' with being a Mod.
The irony of this along with their hypocrisy (lying) shows how inadequate they are to be Moderators and this lowers the level of the Forum as a whole, in my opinion (for the opinion of the Owner of this Forum may be completely different and in disagreement with this).

Brian, Peccary & Monk (Philperth occasionally and now Agnes, just recently) have shown their inability to deal with discussion, disagreement and Members in general - as their Boards have become almost 'ghost-towns' of just a few Members who 'bother' to visit.

I'm not saying that other Mods don't ban members. But they are not 'flippant' and 'fragile' in their motivations and actions and ironically - it's these Mods who get themselves banned.

FD is only putting minor MRBs together that have similar subject matter:

Philosophy, Spirituality and Atheism would merge together but
not Extremism and Defence.

What Brian is saying is that if Alexander Downer joined this forum -

BO was only following the wishes of the majority of the PA members
when the Mongs were banned.
I did so too after I was more or less forced to have a vote on it.
From memory it was 9 votes to zero that I should ban them all.

a lot closer in Winter when the sea ice extends for 100s of kms -
Hobart is subject to the cold circumpolar current and winds but
Tassie can get very hot in summer for 3 months or so.

It would be a frightening thing to fly due South in Winter
on say the 22nd of June from Hobart.
Even at around lunchtime you'd be flying into total darkness.
At the edge of the Antarctic continent the sun only comes just above
the Northern horizon for about 3 hours at around 11am to 2 pm.
That's at about 66 degrees South latitude.
At the South Pole it would be totally dark.
