Where Cities (and their Citizens) run wild
and Nature is controlled like many islands. Madagascar. Where their Cities are controlled and Nature runs wild as one. Britain/Eire. Where both run wild and are both controlled as well. A binary system in a dance of cultural display. |

I knew you would like that! I feel like going there now! Once I find our passports somewhere in this messy house! I put them away before lockdown knowing we couldn’t travel overseas for a couple years and then when it did open up for travel… I’ve had to be double/triple jabbed so I still didn’t bother about passports. Now I have no idea where I put them from 2020 ::) Oh I finally worked out what your countdown meant! ;D |

Aussie throws in a leg-spinner.
Aussie, your post belongs in Sports Board, not here. |

I could not get that link to work for me- they have been predicting a big earthquake for some time now , this year they say- the Japanese pple are somewhat used to the earthquakes- but any quake would scare me I'm afraid, I have never experienced one in Australia....but going there for a couple of weeks I should be pretty safe I'm thinking- hopefully- we are pretty safe from that kind of thing. |

Well, flights, hotels and train tickets for Japan have been booked! We are staying at the Prince Hotel in Shintakanawa for 6 days prior to boarding the Diamond Princess on Sept 4. I just had a squizz at the hotel menu. 100 Yen is around A$1 so a bag of peanuts is $14!
In the end, Qantas gave the best bang for the buck. $1k each - one way - with exit seats, plenty of luggage and a straight through flight. Next thing is to look at things to do and how to get there! |

Don't forget to call them 'Nihonese' or 'Nipponese' - anything but 'Japanese'. They'll like you more for it. ;)

And I’ve just discovered Japan has the oldest hotel in the world, (Guinness book of records)
It’s over 1,300 years old. Such a peaceful environment, I will have it in my bucket list to stay there, and putting this up for some that mentioned going to Japan this year. https://travel.rakuten.com/contents/usa/en-us/guide/nishiyama-onsen-keiunkan/ https://youtu.be/_8W2LIfl5RE?si=hDdtfjjRId4vftyX |

Is fascinating- I'd be almost afraid to stay there- too old! But anyway , my son has changed his mind and doesn't plan on going to Japan this year- I'm thinking I might go by myself but I'm not sure at this stage. I will let you know. |

Hi Agnes, long time no see. That’s a shame if you don’t get to Japan with family member. Maybe you could ask a dear friend to accompany you to Japan if you don’t wish to go alone.
As for that oldest hotel… I bet it’s been refurbished and renewed where required. Depending where it is and pricing… I would go there. I want to boast about things like…. I’ve been to the oldest hotel in the world. I’ve been to a Michelin star restaurant in Paris. (looking it up currently… prices are that I might just have snails in garlic sauce and a coffee only) |

My boy is very cranky with me so I doubt I will go with him at this stage- but who knows there are a few months to go yet-

If you get an opportunity to go … and you don’t, you could regret it. Fleeting grumpy emotions with kids are just that… fleeting… In fact they get worse as they get older, almost as grumpy as us old parent folk! ;D Anyway, don’t let it stop a wonderful trip and adventure. I’m about to go soon, this last week had been stressful with more paperwork, and taking out stuff to make suitcases lighter. Last thing I want to do is have heavy luggage. Mine is 15.5 kgs (yay) and hubby’s is 17.5 kgs. So we have plenty space for stuff we might buy. First stop is Dubai, and it was 43 degrees there today!! Oh gosh! :o |
