Title: ANOTHER Police Murder in USA
Post by AusGeoff on Dec 16th, 2023 at 6:28pm

A Chicago lawyer has filed a federal wrongful death lawsuit
against the city of Morris for the 29 September death of
40-year-old Alivia Schwab, who was shot three times
while on the phone with a suicide crisis hotline while running
[not so] toward Morris Police Officer Nick Pampinella, gripping
a 9-inch-long chef's knife in her hand.

Morris Police face lawsuit after killing mother of three.

It's more than obvious that there was no need for Pampinella
to fire his weapon
as he was not in immediate danger from Schawb.

He should've simply backed off, and waited for Price to deploy
her taser.

Officer Price was also derelict in her duty for not deploying the
taser, particularly when requested to by Pampinella—as the first
part of a detainment procedure.

This is a clear case of murder by Pampinella, and a case of
aiding and abetting by Price.

Two "trained" cops thought the only way to subdue a small woman with a cell phone and knife was to shoot her in the face?

As if the Courts can predict the outcome of the junked victim on a rampage and that they would be deemed 'not dangerous' by the Courts when the Cop on the spot, deemed it otherwise with his life at stake.
Are the Courts sacrificing the safety of its Police Officers as 'expendable', just to protect its own 'Office' above that of many like the Police Force? FBI gets a few more perks.

Well, firstly JaSin, there's no evidence that Schwab
was drug affected, but was suffering from a depressive
illness at the time.

And the fact that she was merely walking towards
Pampinella is hardly evidence of any "rampage",
particularly as the knife was pointed primarily at the
ground.

Neither of the LEOs lives were "at stake".  I think
you may have been watching an altogether different
video?

Whatever... Pampinella's response was totally irresponsible
under the circumstances, and shows a LEO completely
untrained in dealing with people suffering mental illnesses,
under duress, or acting recklessly.

Hopefully Pampinella will end up like the other police
murderer Derek Chauvin—22½ years behind bars.

From your link...

However, the lawsuit fails to mention that Schwab can be seen on Officer Price's body camera video running directly at Officer Pampinella, as the K-9 officer is backpedaling and repeatedly ordering her to stop and drop her knife.

She's SOL anyway, she's white.

Never bring a knife to a gun fight - especially with cops.

Drop the knife, stop moving! - what does that mean in Gippsland when a cop says it five times???

If you were told five time, "Drop the knife, Sage of a Village in Outer South East Gippsland, and stop moving" what would YOU take it to mean?
"Uuuuh-oh, nookie time, gettin' a room!  I'm laffin'!!"

Or what?

If a person with a knife gets within 2 metres of someone there is no way they can be stopped from stabbing that person, even if that person has a gun.

Nah - I think we can just do what we do, right in front of you. No secrets eh Geoff? No secret rooms?
Sorry to hurt your feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Maybe ring a lonely hooker who's had a hard night of it and just would like a nice night out on the bubbly and innocence given freedom, before the coming of the darkness.

Another one four years ago. Cop asked her nicely, backed away quite some distance. She must have known what was coming

If they hit the femoral artery they will rapidly bleed to death.

The police are trained to shoot centre body mass with moving targets a lot easier.

We had a lady die from Tasar here so that is not exactly non lethal alternative.

Here is a tip- comply with police and reduce your chance of getting hurt. If they are wrong in arresting you then sue them.

You're no Trump man, Gordon, oh no.

For many years the accepted danger distance was 21 feet [6.4 metres] although tests have shewn that the danger distance from a person armed with a knife can be greater.
Shooting in any of the extremities is problematical and may not stop an attacker especially if they are on some drugs.
Centre mass is the safest target, i.e. aim for the solar plexus area.

I find it interesting that the OP has no doubt that it was murder.
No beating around the bush with wild ideas like ‘innocent until proven guilty’ or let’s wait till the evidence is in.
From the OP’s post.
“ However, the lawsuit fails to mention that Schwab can be seen on Officer Price's body camera video running directly at Officer Pampinella, as the K-9 officer is backpedaling and repeatedly ordering her to stop and drop her knife.

"Stop it, or you're going to get shot," Pampinella screams.”

Suicide by cop, perhaps?
