Founding AC/DC drummer and ARIA Hall of
Fame inductee Colin Burgess has died. 

No cause of death was given.

Burgess was recruited in November 1973 to help
form AC/DC with Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar
and his brother Angus on lead guitar, lead vocalist
Dave Evans and bassist Larry Van Kriedt.

Before AC/DC, Burgess played with the Australian
rock group The Masters Apprentices, which was
inducted into the Australian Recording Industry
Association Hall of Fame in 1998.

     RIP.

I would guess Mr Burgess would have eased up on the hard living in his later years. Being rich and having access to good medical care, he would have recovered enough to live a slightly below-par old age.

I would deem having a net worth between $1 million and $5 million to be quite well off. And regardless, even if he was doing "okay", he would be accessing medical care to prolong his life. I could imagine that he decided to stop drinking (or cut back considerably) years ago so that he could get to 77 years of age.

We are not talking about some guy that was in AC/DC for a few months and then left to do nothing before AC/DC became very famous. Burgess was in various bands that did sell okay in albums and made money at concerts. I would assume that Mr Burgess would have made some money in related fields. None of which is any of my business. But, I doubt he died broke. He made it to 77 years of age, after all.
