I had half a beer sitting in the fridge, waiting for me to finish on Boxing Day. I had Christmas lunch at the parents' place. My first few bites of the meal, I could hardly swallow or keep down the food. My stomach had that gaseous feeling about it, like I had just drunk a cola or something. Maybe I did. But something was not sitting right. I stopped eating for about 5 minutes until my stomach settled.

That is the thing about being a regular drinker for so long. You cannot digest a decent meal. Sobriety will have me craving all kinds of food in the coming year. And I will probably go back to needing only 4 or 5 hours sleep per night.

Francis Elroy Duffy, Prisoner: Now Preacher?

The Preacher: You may say your piece now.

Francis Elroy Duffy, Prisoner: You're now looking, for the last time, at the mortal body of Francis Elroy Duffy, born to John and Edna Duffy, good, God-fearing folk. Who raised me up to be a good man and a good Christian, and I was a good Christian, a good husband to my beloved wife, good father to my children, who I leave behind, hoping that they, and all you, will learn this here lesson which I leave you with.

When you take the devil into your mouth, you're doomed!
For he is lying there in wait for you inside that bottle of whiskey.

Waiting for you to take him into your mouth. Waiting to get down into your guts where he can do his devil's work. Liquor is the most foul, evil thing in this here world. It destroyed good men like myself. It'll destroy you too. Beer is not much better - it's slower, cheaper. So take these words of advice. And remember, you heard them from a poor sinner, got no more cause to lie, 'cause he's going to meet his Maker. Now he's ready. Well that's all I've got to say.

I hardly ever drink. But the polite expectation that this time of the year places upon 'being social', kinda becomes my Yang in all my Yin. Sometimes Easter has me having a few beers or wine.
Bit of a break since Christmas eve and day.
But Sunday evening of New Years will be another little drinky-poo.
Personally, I don't know how people do it most of the year and even every day.
What I don't like about Alcohol is that it's a dehydrator and with this happening in the Australian summer - it's a bit of drain. But hey, I never buy my alcohol - not worth the price, so if its given freely for social reasons, then I guess I best be polite. I guess people get offended when I turn up with my Fiji Water.

So is Religion like Christianity that oppressed Europe for many centuries with its lies.
Only now are European nations waking up and dumping Christianity back to the Middle-East where it belongs.

I take multivitamins every couple of days. It takes about 48 hours for the supplements to be completely out of my system before I can consider drinking. The last time I drank alcohol whilst I was taking multivitamins was a while back. I woke up the next day sicker than usual and I was not very well for a few days afterwards. Even though the multivitamins are not medication, the supplements have a few elements that do not interact with alcohol very well. So, it is either no multivitamins and I can drink. Or take a multivitamin and be sober for at least 3 days.

Last day of the year and I wonder if I can go a whole year without alcohol. Need to be serious within the next fortnight to get my university all organised. I will be on a prac at the end of February. Then I will be on placement somewhere from March to May (but only for one week).

So Jesus was the devil? In the myth he turned water into wine and later, turned wine into his blood?

He wasn't a drunkard like you.

12 disciples and Jesus shared one glass of wine.

I just looked at the weather for tomorrow and the wind is picking up early which makes the SUP unpleasant, so I think I'll go for a quick cruise to Watsons Bay, after the gym.
