Jorn Utzon, on his return to Denmark after clashes in Australia over the Opera House, was scorned by his own people who saw him as having embarrassed Denmark - even expelling him from their architects' associations and leaving him struggling to find work for years - something the Danes did not rescind until 2013, five years after Utzon's death.

The Sydney Opera House went on to become the symbol of Australian culture's imagination of itself as a great society.

And a bit over 50 years since the architectural tram depot was demolished to make way for the ill designed monstrosity.

It looks pretty but in fact it has poor sound qualities and is
difficult for the orchestra to obtain a nice place to play.

The Opera House is cursed because of the ill treatment done to Utzon and that's why you have HAMAS supporters on its steps.

They waited until Utzon was dead and then Denmark/Australia are like "Oh what a great fellow and amazing Opera House" while both treated him like crap while he was alive.

Not only thar but elderly people and those not so fleet of foot found it often hard going to get to their seats.
The men’s toilets were inadequate and the only time that I went there for a performance we were standing around the toilet bowls, all 5 or 6 of them to urinate.
Legend has it that a couple of truck loads of bowls arrived on site and there was nowhere on the planc for them to go.
Rumour also has it that many house slabs were poured using Opera House destined concrete.
I did help my then boss, along with 2 others spread the concrete for his driveway and garage floor, I remarked on the depth and he said”I’ve got to take the whole load”.
Turnout that it was Opera House first quality stuff.
