Title: Sort this relationship issue for me.
Post by Aussie on Feb 24th, 2024 at 3:47pm
I want to get rid of baths and redo two bathrooms, so there is no bath in either.  Roomy showers instead.

TIB says I am nuts.

Neither of us use a bloody bath so WTF do we have them?

What say ye?

Do you lie in your own smelly dirty water and think you are getting clean?

I remember when I was small kid pissing in the bath cause it felt good!

Depends on where you live. A bath in winter is beautiful. But if you are up north there is not much point to a bath.

I don't know what you do but my bath is not dirty or smelly and I don't piss in it.

We are in Queensland.

When was the last time you had a bath (as opposed to a shower?)

What do you have a bath for if not to get rid of the dirt on your body?

I am in Sydney and in winter I have a bath once a week. It's pleasant. I don't do any dirty work. It's a nice treat in cold seasons.  I also go to a sauna in winter. Bliss.

A 'cold' bath in Queensland would be amazing to have in the heat. Like being chilled like a fine wine. A cold bath would cool the 'core temperature' down faster than fans, etc.
Mind you - only good if you can 'access' cold water or let it sit for awhile to cool down. Maybe add 'ice'?
Other than that. Piss them off and regret about them later.

What's a TIB btw?

Keep 1 bath for resale.
You may not like it but a potential buyer would.

It's gotta be at least 65 years since I last had a bath in my own juices.  Worse even.  Back in those days, the (then scarce hot) water was used by parents first then me and Elder Brother got in the same 'water' with some of that scarce hot water run in to take it back up to warmer than cold b y the time we got in.

I don't recall a shower being in the bathroom back in those days, and when one came along, it was over the bath and there was the plastic shower curtain draped into the inside of the bath, which always had to be kept clean.

Think about it.....you are wallowing in your own mess.

Hi Aussie,
if you ever get a sore back then a soak in bath salts can really help:

I think you should keep at least one bath Aussie.
It might save your life.

I have had chronic back crap for years (way too much sport) and there is no way a bath with any salt is gonna fix it.

You can't 'fix' your back Aussie.  ::)
Well, not unless you have $2.3million for stem-cell regrowth of your back over in Switzerland.
It's all about softening the blow, preventing it from getting worse (beyond aging) and anything else that helps.

Keep 1 bath in the main bathroom and ditch the one in the ensuite. If you sell anyone with young kids or baby will want a bath in the house and ditching both will cost you a potential buyer.

Do you think Smith is just trolling as usual - in hope of convincing Aussie to sell the bath to him for $60?

With you there, Bobby, it really helps; one thing for older people to bere in mind though is not to pull the plug whilst in the bath.

He can't formulate effective written expression on this Forum, let alone put forth anything interesting worth acknowledging as intelligent.

You're an idiot,  your sentence makes no sense, except to idiots. He's not selling to people with kids, hes including them as potential buyers.  The only mistake in my sentence was the comma missing after I said 'if you sell'. You were in such a rush to highlight your stupidity.   ;D

I’ll just add that in times of water shortage, or when due to prolonged works and the water is likely to be cut off, the bath is usually the only large receptacle that can be used to store water.
If the shower is over the bathtub, then bad luck.

I'll grant you that point.  I do recall us using the bath to store water like a reservoir when there was some sort of issue minimising the usual water supply.
