Title: South Australian "Voice" Post by MattE on Apr 2nd, 2024 at 5:54pm
South Australia rapped up its state based "Voice" to parliament election over the weekend.
Prior to its establishment, thousands rallied for it. There were estimates up to 10,000 people turned out in Adelaide at one rally. Yet, this weekend we found as little as 2000 actually voted, with candidates being elected with as few as 11 votes. A school captain would get more votes at a school election. If this was so important for aborigines, why the low vote? Some candidates received 0 votes, which could mean even the candidates didn't bother voting. I am wondering if the vast majority of those attending the rallies were in fact guilt ridden white people? |
