Title: Don Hankey and Trump Post by Sprintcyclist on Apr 3rd, 2024 at 5:16am
These two will have a big falling out. Don Hankey lent Trump the bond money.
Hankey made his fortune by selling subprime Auto loans. He is not a philanthropist https://www.forbes.com/sites/jenniferwang/2020/09/08/the-new-forbes-philanthropy-score-how-we-ranked-each-forbes-400-billionaire-based-on-their-giving/?sh=2a0d21659eba |

Hankey will get his money trump does not own trump towers, he owns a lease on them. He does own other properties that may cover the bill |

Ah, yes, Trump won't pay him. I guess the lease is worth something, not a huge amount. There are a lot of commercial vacancies in NY. Am guessing Hankey would want a real asset, not a lease that costs him $1.5M annually. Not Mar-a-largo. Who now believes the figures trump offers? Certainly not someone who runs subprime auto loans. |
Title: Re: Don Hankey and Trump Post by greggerypeccary on Apr 3rd, 2024 at 5:33am Unlike Trump, Hankey is a smart businessman. He doesn't want real estate as collateral - he's only interested in liquid assets. At first, Trump planned to post a mix of investment-grade bonds and cash as collateral (80% bonds and 20% cash), Hankey said. Although Knight Specialty received the bonds and approved them, he said they were not posted in the end. “Ultimately, he put up all cash,” Hankey said, adding that he does not know where the $175 million in cash that Trump posted came from. |

Hankey confirmed to CNN that he and his wife, as well as their two sons, have donated to Trump’s presidential campaigns in the past and plan to support him again in 2024. Although Hankey said he has not heard directly from the president, he said Eric Trump did reach out Tuesday morning to thank him for the business. |
