Title: Yadda, the film-drama critic.

WOKE Australia, 2024, is being promoted on SBS ??

Yes it is.

WOKE Australia, 2024
Albo's Australia, 2024

'SWIFT STREET'....
The new 'action-packed crime drama', being promoted on SBS.......

QUESTION;
What is the SBS >> crime drama << 'SWIFT STREET'
saying [i.e. promoting as a norm and presumably as acceptable?] about Australian society ?

And, what is it saying,   ...about Australian 'culture',  ....in Australia, in 2024 ?

QUESTION;
In 2024, and what does 'SWIFT STREET' say about,
what are Australian minorities ["the multicultural inner-Melbourne community"]
are choosing to embrace as "...a really fun ride"  [>> as presented, << in 'SWIFT STREET'] ?

IS IT......suggesting, that the 'crime scene' [and that, involving yourself in the 'crime scene'], as a cultural option, is acceptable in Australia ?

That, is what i see.

It is being promoted at the SBS website, as crime drama, and "...a really fun ride".

'Oh yeah, crime is OK man,   ......as long as its a fun ride.'

.

I have not watched this SBS crime drama.

I have only watched the SBS 'promos', about this crime drama.

Yadda's opinion, about  Swift Street.....

Its 'about'....
youth culture
VIOLENT retribution,   [watch the YT promos!! ]
personal relationships,
illicit drug taking?,
[if you do not have any] how to 'get' money,
.....and LOAN SHARK 'culture'.

YOUTUBE search......

Quote:

Crime is relative in SBS’s new Canneseries-nominated urban drama 'Swift Street'

Starring Tanzyn Crawford and Cliff Curtis as an entertainingly dysfunctional father-daughter duo, 'Swift Street' premieres Wednesday 24 April on SBS and SBS On Demand.

......This action-packed crime drama follows 21-year-old street smart Elsie (Tanzyn Crawford) who must team up with her jaded old-school hustler father, Robert (Cliff Curtis), to get him out of a $26,000 debt and save him from a merciless crime boss (Eliza Matengu).

The unlikely pair embark on a series of crimes while navigating their complicated father-daughter relationship.

.......“Swift Street is a story from my heart, set in the multicultural inner-Melbourne community that I live in and love,” says series creator and director Tig Terera.

SBS Head of Scripted, Julie Eckersley describes Swift Street as “unlike anything we’ve seen on Australian television before”.

“It's a great story that takes audiences on a really fun ride.

Wait on the blockbusters - Aborassic Park and Gondwanamo Bay .....    and the Outback cattle driver movie - Rein Man....  a cattle drover and is crew arrive at some beautiful open range after heavy rain has caused the Outback to bloom and grow green (it's gang green!), and the local Aboriginal 'traditional owners' try to drive them off after burning down the Outback town they wanted to get supplies from.... see the magnificent closing scenes where Rein Man confronts exchanges smokes with the Old Man of the tribe to see who draws faster....

"Wanna see me draw again?"

"No, Bro - you too fast fo' me... YOU try this ganja, tek 'im easy,  an' see what I mean..."
