Linked to Bishop Stabbing


The seven, aged 15 to 17, were part of a network that included a 16-year-old boy
accused of the stabbing of a bishop in a Sydney church on April 15, police said.


SYDNEY (AP) – Australian police arrested seven teenagers accused of following a violent extremist ideology in raids across Sydney on Wednesday to protect the community from a potential attack, officials said.

Five other teenagers were still being questioned late Wednesday by the Joint Counter-Terrorism Team, which includes federal and state police as well as the Australian Security Intelligence Organization, the nation´s main domestic spy agency, and the New South Wales Crime Commission, which specializes in extremists and organized crime.

More than 400 police officers executed 13 search warrants at properties across southwest Sydney because the suspects were considered an immediate threat, New South Wales Police Deputy Commissioner David Hudson said.

“We will allege that these individuals adhered to a religiously motivated,
violent extremist ideology,” Hudson told reporters.


“It was considered that the group … posed an unacceptable risk and threat to the people of New South Wales, and our current purely investigative strategies could not adequately ensure public safety,” Hudson added.

Australian Federal Police Deputy Commissioner Krissy Barrett said investigators found no evidence of specific targets or timing of an intended “violent act.”

She said the police operation was not linked to Anzac Day on Thursday, a public holiday when Australians remember their war dead.

It has been a potential target of extremists in the past.

A 16-year-old was charged on Friday with committing a terrorist act, a crime that carries a maximum penalty of life in prison, following the knife attack in which an Assyrian Orthodox bishop and priest were injured.

An Australian Federal Court judge on Wednesday extended an order banning social media platform X from showing videos of the bishop being repeatedly stabbed.

Justice Geoffrey Kennett extended the ban, which the court put in place on Monday, until May 10.

Australian police have arrested seven teenagers
as part of a wave of counter-terrorism raids across Sydney,
claiming it was "likely" the youths may have been plotting an attack.

The suspects are believed to share a "religiously motivated violent extremist ideology", say police.

The raids are linked to last week's stabbing of an Assyrian bishop, which police declared a "terrorist act".

Police say the offenders were "juveniles" aged from 15 to 17.

Investigators allege that the teenagers belong to the same network as the 16-year-old boy who has been charged with a terror offence in relation to the stabbing of Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel, which occurred during a livestreamed sermon.

At least four people suffered "non threatening" injuries after the attack in the western Sydney suburb of Wakeley. The 16-year-old was also hurt.

"From that initial [Wakeley] incident, a number of associates were identified that we believe warranted further close attention and investigation," NSW Police Deputy Commissioner David Hudson told media on Wednesday.

Mr Hudson said that the youths were all "linked in a common purpose" and posed an "unacceptable risk and threat" to the public. Five others are also assisting with police enquiries.

He added that all had been under surveillance following the incident at Christ The Good Shepherd Church last Monday, and that police had intercepted the group because "it was likely an attack might ensue" although no specific plan or target had been identified.

An investigation by the state's joint counterterrorism team remains ongoing.

In total, 400 police officers were involved in Wednesday's raids,
with search warrants issued at thirteen locations across southwest Sydney.

Five juveniles have been charged as the Joint Counter Terrorism Team (JCTT) Sydney continues to investigate the associates of the alleged offender who conducted the stabbing at a Wakeley church.

About 11.15am yesterday (Wednesday 24 April 2024) investigators executed 13 search warrants across a number of suburbs in Sydney including
Bankstown, Prestons, Casula, Lurnea, Rydalmere,
Greenacre, Strathfield, Chester Hill, and Punchbowl, as well as a premises in Goulburn.

The operation involved more than 400 police from NSW and the AFP.

Seven juvenile males were arrested. A further five people, including two men and three juvenile males, also assisted police with their inquiries.

A number of items were seized as a result of yesterday’s activity, including a significant amount of electronic material.

Following inquiries, five juveniles were charged with the following:

    Two males, aged 17 and 14, were charged with possessing or controlling violent extremist material obtained or accessed using a carriage service.
    Two males, both aged 16, were charged with conspiring to engage in any act in preparation for, or planning, a terrorist act.
    A male, aged 17, was charged with conspiring to engage in an act in preparation for, or planning, a terrorist act and custody of a knife in a public place.

All five were refused bail to appear before a Children’s Court today (Thursday 25 April 2024).

Operational activity remains ongoing, with the other juveniles and men are assisting police with inquiries.

The warrants follow a stabbing incident at Wakeley on the evening of 15 April 2024. A 16-year-old boy has been charged over that incident and remains before the courts.

There is no specific threat to public safety and no threat to Anzac Day commemorations.

The Joint Counter Terrorism Team Sydney is comprised of members from the NSW Police Force, Australian Federal Police, Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) and NSW Crime Commission.

The young men described themselves as the "Soldiers of Allah". In the police fact sheet, there are messages which the boys exchanged with each other via the Signal messaging app. Here are examples of the messages:

“I wanna die and I wanna kill … I’m just excited … Is your plan to get caught or die or escape?” – 17-year-old on Signal on April 20 after Wakeley riots.

“I really want to target the yahood (Jewish people) … we will plan it” – 15-year-old on a Signal group chat called “Plans” on April 19.

“WE ARE NOT A RELIGION OF PEACE, we don’t give a chance for anyone to come at our deen (Islam)” – social media reposted by the 15-year-old on April 17.

“I was gonna come in the junkiest clothes on Monday cos I thought we were gonna go stabbing c--ts” – one of the boys on April 20.

“I js wanna married to a religious good girl then make hijrah with her and have kids maybe but I really want to do an attack now too because I have so much hatred for these kuffar it’s not funny and I wanna do jihad now” – 15-year-old's social media post on April 21.

“It’s easy to do fire bro but shooting and bombs too hard” – the 16-year-old's post on social media on April 21.

“I know the bloke who done it he’s my mate … It’s gonna be Cronulla riots all over again” – the 15-year-old on the Wakeley stabbing and subsequent rioting.

That Australia’s rulers flit with such ease from blather about keeping people ‘safe’ from violent content to handwringing over ‘misinformation’ exposes their true motivation – not the protection of citizens from ‘harm’ but the protection of officialdom itself from images and ideas that make it feel uncomfortable. In this case, it seems pretty clear that the allegedly Islamist nature of the attack is a key factor in the government’s desire to memory-hole footage of it. They don’t want Australians having an open, frank discussion about radical Islam and the social disarray it springs from. Hide the video, stop the debate.

It's all so silly -
the internet works by copying and distributing all interesting news.
That video was everywhere I looked - not just here.
facebook, twitter, infowars, gab, YouTube, BitChute, forums, news services etc.
Once something is on the internet it's there forever.
The Australian Govt is wasting tax payers money trying to get rid of it.
It is a very sickening clip but it's the truth.
Was that poor Bishop blinded?

Court ends injunction on X over videos of Sydney church stabbing

Federal court refuses to extend ban on 65 posts on Elon Musk’s platform
showing last months’s attack on bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel


The federal court has refused to extend an injunction against Elon Musk’s platform X over 65 tweets containing video of a stabbing attack at a Sydney church, , before a final hearing in the case.

Last month, X was ordered to hide the posts of the stabbing attack on bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel while he was giving a livestreamed service at the Assyrian Christ the Good Shepherd church in the Sydney suburb of Wakeley.

The eSafety commissioner sought a federal court injunction after X only made the tweets unavailable to Australian users and vowed to challenge the notice. The injunction was due to expire on Monday unless the court extended the order ahead of a final hearing, which is expected in mid-June.

   
Justice Geoffrey Kennett on Monday refused the application to extend the injunction. Kennett’s reasons were expected to be released later on Monday.

At a hearing on Friday, Kennett heard from X’s barrister, Bret Walker SC, that the wording of the order to hide the tweets was not something the company could technically comply with. At the time, Kennett said he was “troubled” by that information.
