Title: Build more coal plants or enjoy blackouts

QLD
Wind is 1,455MW
Solar 137MW
Gas and Coal 4355MW
NSW
Wind 624 MW
Solar 1429 MW
Gas, Coal & Hydro 4663MW
Vic
Wind 2273MW
Solar 338 MW
Gas & Coal 3924MW
SA
Wind 1940MW
Solar 84MW
Gas & Coal 84MW
Tas
Wind 137MW
Solar 0
Hydro, Gas & Coal 730MW
So there is not a location on the East coast close to been able to claim renewables as a solution they can be part of a solution but not the entire solution.

We should have upgraded existing coal fired power plants and
used clean anthracite coal from QLD to run them.

I fear blackouts now from Govt. incompetence.

More houses are hosting solar panels on their roofs. That cuts the demand on the electricity grid.

Would you like to explain your logic, or is this more like a religion for you?

::) ::)

the logic is that in some places solar is producing virtually nothing
in some places wind is producing virtually nothing
in the majority of places, even in the middle of the day, coal and gas are doing the heavy lifting

care to explain how everyone is going to recharge their cars at night when the sun doesnt shine and the wind isnt blowing?

or is renewables a "religion' for you ?

By storing the energy.

You can always charge your car in the middle of the day. And heat your hot water.

You can't charge your car in the middle of the day if your car is at your work place miles away.
You're looking a $10K dangerous battery to store the energy at home to
later release that night to charge your car.

You can if there is a charging point at work.
