The US government doesn't want a trial and they have oppressed, abused, and tortured the defendants to the extent they will agree to anything.

The US government doesn't want truth and facts emerging from a trial that would embarrass the US government.

It is the same reason Osama Bin Laden was murdered by the US kill team instead of arrested. OBL was then disposed of at sea in an undisclosed location instead of buried because the US didn't want his burial site to become a shrine.

The US government has much to hide from the public and works very hard to keep the truth hidden.

In 2023, the Pentagon advised families of 9/11 victims of a potential plea deal involving five detainees, prompting outrage from families who wanted the men to face a death-penalty trial. On Sept. 11, 2001, two hijacked passenger planes hit the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. A third plane struck the Pentagon in Washington. A fourth plane, heading to Washington, crashed in Pennsylvania after passengers fought back.
