Title: Home made lemonade
Post by tallowood on Aug 30th, 2024 at 1:54pm
1 liter of water
1 lemon
15 g of fresh tarragon or fresh basil
50 g of sugar

First, with a small amount of water, you need to thoroughly beat the fresh tarragon or basil to extract the color and flavor, mix with sugar. Add pieces of chopped lemon. Then mix well again.

Next, strain it all through a sieve into a separate container. There are still a lot of flavors left in the pulp that need to be removed, so you can pour it again with cold clean water into the same container. And now dilute this concentrate with water to the desired volume.
The lemonade is ready.

I tried a homemade lemonade recipe that someone put up once.  It was a fairground lemonade and omg it was awesome.  I wish I knew where the recipe is now.

Yours looks good too except for the Basil lol.

I used to make it when I was a kid.
I remember the recipe called for a tiny amount of Epsom salts.

Best Lemonade I've ever had was from some kids who set up a stall on the footpath last summer. Just $2 a plastic cup. I pulled over and after my first for my thirst. I ended up bringing a smile to their faces when I bought four more cups to take down. It was so good and tasteful, I gave them a $10 tip for their good offering.

I decided to look up my 1970s little Holly Hobbie recipe booklet I used for writing recipes in it.
And there’s a lemonade drink I tried which was yum … and has the salt in it like you mentioned Bobby.
This I wrote down that recipe over 30 years ago.
My higgly piggly hand writing  ;D

Yeah I thought that… hence my note at bottom I only used 1/2 kg sugar.
But imagine how much sugar goes into coke etc … I read once in every can is 16 teaspoons sugar.
My last workplace in early 80’s before I started family was in the office as data processor for Cadbury chocolate factory.
I had a window looking out at truck loading area …. The big tip trucks that came in constantly were fully loaded with sugar!
It blew my mind how much sugar was used!
It sort of taught me back then to be more aware of how much sugar there was in our food/drink products.
But Imma still love chocolate!  ;D
