This is a short video of George W. Bush making remarks after Obama won the election. This is how a President acts, how a President continues the peaceful transition of office from one person to the next. Can you imagine Trump doing this? Not in a million years!

Well, former president George W Bush has announced he won't be endorsing anyone in this election. On the other hand, over two hundred Bush, McCain and Romney staffers have declared they're voting for Kamala. I'm not sure I've heard of any of them, but, as you know, the McCain and Romney campaigns remain bywords for hugely successful political operations, so no doubt many of those hundreds of staffers helped craft what are widely acknowledged to be two of the most impressive concession speeches in American history. I never would have guessed a decade ago that another president could come along that could make Bush sound smart. :D |

I remember times when you could have a Republican who was President pick a Democrat to be their Secretary of Defence, for example, simply because they were the best person for the job. Or vice versa for a Democrat President. It didn't happen often, but it did happen and it was something about American politics I really admired. It can't happen in our system of government. It may never happen again in American politics because of people like Trump and Marjorie Taylor Green and Matt Gaetz. Trump has made the Republican Party hyper-partisan. Still, it's encouraging to hear Harris say she would pick a Republican to serve in her administration if she found the right person for the right job, so maybe there's still hope. |

a real president understands that the swamp run the show and his role is to try to raise the mood of the country by being funny (tick for donny) or by preaching awesomeness (the MAGA message)
