US police are dishonest.

US Police often shout "drop the knife" or "drop the weapon" (because they have been taught to do that as a pretext) before they shoot somebody who is unarmed to create the pretense of a police shooting victim being armed or the pretense that the police believed the victim was armed.

In this case the protesters were outraged over the shooting of 3 bystanders including one who was shot in the head.

greggerypeccary is not outraged that 4 people were shot over a trivial fare evasion cause. Not only that, this man is now going to be a lifelong felon which means a life of crime  and recidivism because he won't be able to get a job.

But there is clear video footage of him disobeying lawful commands and then running at the police.

The police might not be squeaky clean in this case, but the fare evader really only has himself to blame for what happened.

I'm a bleeding heart left at times, and while I'm certainly not perfect, as in, I enjoy watching sovereign citizens being arrested and dragged out of their cars for not complying etc, I overall do not support the Police when they overreach especially around violence, shootings and profiling.

The guy was not complying, he was already tasered and did appear to have a weapon.  He then ran at police without clearly dropping the weapon, it almost looks like a suicide by cop.

Would it have been better if he wasn't shot, or the bystanders, had better access to mental health services etc and didn't turn to crime putting himself in this position, sure.  Of course.

But you're trying to create an outrage machine over a guy who rushed the policy appearing to have a weapon.

This isn't like some shell-shocked cop overdosing on adrenalin seeing the reflection of the sunlight in a chocolate bar wrapper a kid is eating in the playground and then gunning them down thinking it's a weapon.
