It will get tricky if Israel decides to do this.   Lebanon is 1/3 Christian and 2/3 Islam.   At the moment, the mainly Christian Lebanese government forces is sitting back, and see what unfolds.   But Israel are now starting to bomb mainly Christian areas as well.   If Israel decide to take Lebanon, it will then be resisted by both the Lebanese government forces and Hezbollah.

Yeah, I think with US support, it may well be possible.   That will however come at a heavy cost to Israel.  It would be a worse version of Afghanistan.

Fortunately, Mars has plenty of water to sustain our aspirations in the form of subsurface ice.
