Amazing feat

I'd love to see a Lab or a Lib build a rocket and achieve such a manouver, don't think they'd have sufficient brain matter. Throwing paper aeroplanes around the room is about all they could manage

No chance, the liberals gutted the CSIRO in 2014.   Not only they dont have the collective brain power.  They dont want anyone else in Australia to do it as well.

Been there done that.
'On 4 June 1783, they flew the balloon at Annonay. The flight covered 2 km and had an estimated altitude of 1,600–2,000 m.  The balloon was sky blue and decorated with golden flourishes, signs of the zodiac, and suns.  The king proposed to launch two convicted criminals, but it is most likely that the inventors decided to send a sheep, a duck, and a rooster aloft first. The craft landed safely after flying.'
