Title: Is AUSTRALIA better now than 4 years ago?
Post by Daves2017 on Nov 11th, 2024 at 10:48pm
I’m not so concerned about myself actually, I’m doing fine mate.

I travel around for work and see some country rather than concrete cities and I’m not sure?

It’s also definitely difficult overseas. Australia isn’t alone in this cost of living crisis.

The only positive I see now is we have much, much better relationship with China.

I’m not sure why they suddenly become our number 1 enemy, strongly suspect news Ltd had a lot to do with it but as our number 1 trading partner and our allies in WW2 I’m happy too see us back on better terms.

Please share your thoughts and in a free democracy like Australia?

Vote or go to jail

Communist China wasn't our ally during WW2

I might be corrected by yourself but I believe the National Chinese army and communist fought together against the Japanese ( our mutual enemy) and resumed fighting each other once the Japanese surrendered?

Could also be the civil Chinese war emerging after ww2 ?
Really not 100% on which forces but undeniably Chinese were our allies.

From a open view, if the Chinese are so terrible ( which They are not) why do we support them in billions in trade?

As China pointed out a few weeks back, maybe fix our own backyard with regards human rights and political rorts before pointing the bone at others?
Not such bad advice I fear?

Just saying, governments change, good people, regardless colour or race rarely.

I don’t forget what the Japanese did as quickly I forget our allies in that difficult time.

"Is AUSTRALIA better now than 4 years ago?"

If Dutton follows Trump with that same playbook he's in like Flyn.

Imagine, if you can, both labor and liberals working constructively together for the benefit of our country.

The greens are destroyed to labor delight.
The liberals are rid of that stone in there shoe that’s the National party.

I can only live in hope

hi there dave

it all comes down to fossil fuels

fossil fuels are so amazing

for a couple of bucks of deisel, my tractor can do the manual labout of several thousand dollars of manual laborers if i had to go hire people (who dont want to do manual labour anyway).

so if we transition out of fossil fuels every one is going to have a lower standard of living and pay more

thats just a fact

secondly, a lot of young people who used to work in useful trades like building houses can now have the easy life working for the NDIS , playing playstation all day and collecting a reasonable income whilst baby sitting an intellectually disabled person .

so we have a lot less manual labourers and trades and house prices will go up and up.

thirdly, the cult of safetyism costs a lot

there was 2 guys with a whipper snipper doing a roadise near me yesterday with 1 truck and 2 traffic cintrol vehicles going along beside them , slowing down the economy and probably making a 500 dollar job cost 5000.

just inefficient

Do you mean "if only every policy was a bi-partisan policy?" .. OR .. "If only the Libs and Labs didn't have to go to the polls to rule Australia"

It's bad enough that they rule separately, let alone joining forces. When they join forces, no one else gets a say, we're ignored

It would be far more to our advantage if all parties and the public work together to achieve constructive results. We need to eliminate disenfranchisement

Yeah - I'm awright, Jakapoonamohamed.  Country's gone to the dogs.... division to the right of me - division to the left of me - into the Valley of Death rode The Aussie Hundreds ...

Something to do with Chinese expansionism - so reflective of history.

Later - I'm busy....
