This is strictly based on “Tavern” and “Critters and Gardens” being combined, call the new board “Tavern Critters.”

This would be good—one biggish board instead of two small ones, make OzPol look busier, reduce the miles–long front page a bit.

I believe Agnes would be happy with this.

Why not merge Travel, Books, Games, Toolshed and Music? Lols could Mod the combined board. She is active, tries to build up Travel etc.

So merging Tavern with Critters and Gardens, merging Philosophy with Spirituality and merging the four small boards the front page is reduced in length (even more if something is done about the Party boards) with fewer but bigger MRBs.

The way I'm feeling I doubt I'd have the energy.  Maybe next time.

Merging Chat and the Tavern is probably a good idea, but at this stage it is going to be standalone (unless of course FD changes his mind).

Who are the current nominees??

Tavern is an MRB and so should be merged with another MRB to make the list of MRBs shorter and beef up another MRB making that part of the forum look more active.

That is the basis of my run for Tavern. Or I could Mod both but a merger makes sense.

Chat has a huge number of posts, adding Tavern wouldn’t affect that at all.

Merging Tavern with Critters and Gardens will make that look and be bigger and more active.

I am using the poll function to collect expressions of interest - so when you select the “i want to” button, your name is captured.   But, the poll function requires at least two options - i only need one - so I used dev Null is just a blank field.      When the poll time has run, I can use the names as a vote field.    Takes me back to my UNIX days

Because of precedent, something FD encourages his Members to follow.  For example, I already mod two Boards, Relationships and Palmer Party.

I have previously supported Grappler but he has, since this opening arose, said he did not want the job, then maybe he does, and then it seems he is a candidate.  He has said he is not up to it health wise, and is only standing in case no-one else does.  That is not good.

I will not vote for him because of all that.  Stability is what is required.

At least he was being honest about it.

But whatever his health situation that worries him…. Maybe having modship of the tavern forum may give him the spiritual lift that’s needed…. one could be surprised how healing that could be to lots of ailments.
We all need a reason to keep on forging ahead.

He’s very active and writes a lot… always has, so that’s something to be certain of.

I’m going to do a check now… of other moderated boards to see how active all those mods are.

Grapps is a worthy contender and an active poster on this Forum. His long serving contribution to this fine Forum can be rewarded with a Mod position of a Board that seems to have an OPEN THEME as it has never really been established since it started. Even Agnes had no idea really.
I'm sure Grapps would make a great Publican or whatever, if that's the theme he runs with.

Very true and a few months absence is nothing to sneeze at… just in case if Mr. G wins modship…. So if he takes a couple months off it’s nothing to go hoo ha about just because it’s Tavern.

Perceptions Now rarely posts these last few years.
Mike trees and Ajax pop in for at least a week a few times in a year now. Gandalf is gone for good (he's also a Gmod would you believe). Others vanished as soon as they became mods.

Unless Brian and Rocky want to see votes splitting into losing, I suggest they get their act together and sort out which one takes it alone to Grappler.

That does seem to be the "moderation" of this site. If a post would get the admins in trouble with the law, it has to go.

They are not liars, they were truthful about their feelings… just uncertain until more inspired, and recently I sensed more inspiration and sometimes people need to get challenged before that inspiration awakens within.
Both Graps and Rocky have been in various sub forums actively engaging with many others, very socially. With Brian I sense he doesn’t tolerate people on all levels as much as what Graps and Rocky do. So a Tavern pub type suits the latter two to a tee.

Obviously, that is one of your made up stories. I am a trained scout sniper. But, East Timor peacekeeping did not want someone to shoot long distances, in case I caused a bit of political tensions with Indonesia.

My adult daughter could probably go compete in the 2028 Olympics, along side her husband. Both are trained snipers. Their grandfather was in Vietnam as a scout sniper. He happened to be my drill instructor.

I have not had the best of times between July and September this year. But I am on the mend.

What caused your departure?  I caused the departure of a bloke on another forum who sent me threats online... he knows not the reach of things internet ... thought he was cunning, coming in late at night and posting stuff - hidden profile - sent me a message and then took it off instantly.

He knows not what abilities the cyber-police have..... not to mention that the lady who runs the site is in love with me.... it's mutual.  I'm not worth it - but she is...

The last bottle of wine I had was bought Xmas 2023 and
It took me until August 2024 to finish it.
I kept it corked in the fridge.
I would add it to cooking or have half a small glass as a night cap
