Donald Trump’s transition team is planning for all political appointees to receive sweeping security clearances on the first day and only face FBI background checks after the incoming administration takes over the bureau and its own officials are installed in key positions, according to people familiar with the matter.

The move appears to mean that Trump’s team will continue to skirt FBI vetting and may not receive classified briefings until Trump is sworn in on 20 January and unilaterally grant sweeping security clearances across the administration.

Trump’s team has regarded the FBI background check process with contempt for months, a product of their deep distrust of the bureau ever since officials turned over transition records to the Russia investigation during the first Trump presidency, the people said.

But delaying FBI vetting could also bring ancillary PR benefits for the Trump team if some political appointees run into problems during a background check, which could upend their Senate confirmation process, or if they struggle to obtain security clearances once in the White House.

The putative process for obtaining a clearance in the first Trump administration involved the White House’s personnel security office relying on an FBI background check to decide whether to grant one. The background check initially looked for untrustworthiness or red flags that could be exploited by adversaries.

If the initial checks against law enforcement databases uncovered no issues, applicants were granted an interim clearance while deeper investigations continued until it was advanced to a permanent clearance. The current Trump plan appears set to bypass that initial stage.

You are emoting about your hatred. You are talking about perceptions, interpretations, evaluations from an uncontrolled, hateful perspective.

But nobody can 'avoid the real checks and balances'. 

In fact they are constantly trying to trip up Trump, at every turn, with 'checks and balances'. How many cases of Lawfare, impeachment, legal challenges, congressional, judicial and regulatory obstacles and impeachment have they put before him?

Where were the similar checks and balances when Biden's mental incapacity was clear to everyone, years ago? What happened to the checks and balances around the the laptop, the Russia dossier, the 50+ intelligence heads lying openly? The smears mascarading as checks and balances around Trump's Supreme Court nominees? And so on, and on, a litany.

And watch when all the cover-up over the last 4 years gets looked into by the 'checks and balances' people. WASHINGTON, Jan 18 (Reuters) - President-elect Donald Trump is poised to seize greater control of the federal government than any modern president before him when he takes office on Monday, charging ahead with plans to dismantle what he and his allies call the "deep state," according to two sources familiar with transition discussions.
The effort could get underway as early as Trump's first day as president, according to one of the sources, with an executive order aimed at stripping job protections from an estimated 50,000 career federal employees, allowing their replacement by handpicked loyalist appointees.
The Trump administration will also push to fill the thousands of political appointments across government as soon as possible, another source told Reuters.
The goal is to inject political loyalists deep into the workings of government, perhaps more so that any other recent president.
In a harbinger of what may lie ahead, Trump's team has requested the resignation of three senior career diplomats who oversee the U.S. State Department's workforce and internal coordination, Reuters reported this week.
