Wow -

"So on the Northern Beaches Council, we have 111 executives," he told Today.
"They cost over $25 million and $3.3 million is spent every year on their vehicles."
He claimed staff wages cost $170 million a year.
Northern Beaches resident Stuart Gold, who established the Northern Beaches People's Voice group on Facebook, said "thousands" of locals had been involved in the campaign against the hike.

So the minority of those who can't afford to live in the rich affluent Northern Beaches are putting their stink up.

That's like Monk living in Gordon's suburb saying not fair  ;D

I was wondering what would happen when all NSW lnp councillors were to STUPID to put their application in on time to be a candidate.

And now I know just what  a labor run council will do.

It reflects on Minns and Albo greatly.

The beaches council needs to be sacked and an administrator appointed quickly.

I doubt Minns will do that too his biggest supporters?

No, we did not vote for this!

This is what happens when you roll three councils into one. Manly Municipality, Warringah Shire and Pittwater Shire were forced to combine and the result was supposed to be more economically efficient!

I'm wondering when they're going to try to stop our free council bus (4 of them) that go all around the old Manly Municipality area.  The rest of the Beaches don't think it's fair.  They've tried to stop it before and failed but it's only fair because Manly is just so full up with tourists these days.  The parking is non existent on the streets and everything seems to cater for the tourists so all more expensive.   >:(

Local councils need a DOGE to remove wasting money.

That's what you get when you vote for half-brained proto Nazis who can't think past their front door and have no contact with reality... like all such, the moment they are on the power train, they think that's all there is - power over the people - and they imagine they can make up any rules they want .... same at every level of 'government'.

Gladys' Children - this combined councils and such that now are more inefficient than ever - we had the same here - OUR council was in the black - Glad combined it with two in the red - and guess what?  Our area is under-nourished now and the money often goes into 'beautification' of the new Capital City - something that is beyond hope in the Beautification Stakes... more interest in planting flowers in a roundabout than fixing the roads that kill people...

Thing is - most of them are lifelong residents and figure they deserve a better go than paying rates like some overpaid 'executive'.

Many people there are cash poor - living on a pension -
they just have a valuable house that's all -
and now they can't pay all the rates and taxes.

A few, not many.

But it happens in Melbourne too -
people have to sell up because they can't pay the rates and taxes -
and move to a cheaper location.

Correct.

ps ... median house price - $4,250,000 ... but that can hardly be blamed on the residents.   >:(

Would anyone like Monk to live next door to them?

But it happens in Melbourne too -
people have to sell up because they can't pay the rates and taxes -
and move to a cheaper location.

I personally know someone that was forced to sell for that reason.
The council didn't care about him and his wife and their hardship.
If you can't pay the rates you have to sell or the council will take your house by force and sell it
to get their money.
