Trump being there and supporting the Chiefs isn't sitting well with their fans, many blame him.
But he had no choice. He has bad blood with the Eagles after many of their players expressed their intention to decline an invitation to the White House after winning the Superbowl in 2018, citing disagreements with Trump's policies, including his stance on NFL players kneeling during the national anthem. In response, Trump disinvited the team, accusing them of disrespecting the flag and the military. So he had to support the Chiefs, which is funny because he's also got bad blood with Taylor Swift. While Trump was there, getting the Boos we saw, when it looked like the Chiefs were not going to win, the momentum on social media turned against him. This is historically why Presidents don't attend, plus the danger it puts the crowds in, not that Trump cares about that. The tide turning included claims that Trump wasn't doing his job, but watching football etc, and it's his fault the Chiefs were losing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GOlqEqnfa0 So what did Trump have to do? What he always does, posts something crazy of Truth Social as a distraction, and this time it was about the penny, As usual, he's more concerned about his image than anything else. Overall, it was an expensive mistake. His supporters are incapable of accepting that he was boo'ed and had already decided what they were going to think before it even happened, but that was always going to be the case, so the needle didn't move there. But some on the fence say it is him wasting time and money, and then saw his little tantrum truth social post to cover for all the negativity around his appearance. He would have been better to not go at all. |
