Title: Labor Edges Ahead Of Coalition In Latest Poll

Labor edges ahead of Coalition in latest poll   :)
New Daily
Mar 12, 2025

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has yet to announce an election date but it must occur by May 17.

Labor has taken a slim lead over the Coalition in a weekly survey ahead of a federal election expected in May.   :)

The Roy Morgan poll puts Labor on 51.5 per cent to the Coalition’s 48.5 per cent on a two-party-preferred basis, with a two-point rise in support for the government and a two-point dip for the opposition flipping the prior week’s result.   :)

A Roy Morgan survey issued in the last week of February had also had Labor leading the Coalition, 51 per cent to 49 per cent.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said on Friday he would not pick April 12 as election day and that the federal budget scheduled for March 25 will go ahead.

Other Saturdays later in April have been ruled out for an election due to the Easter and Anzac Day long weekends.

While the election must be held by May 17, the next most likely date is May 3.

The Roy Morgan poll released on Tuesday said backing for the Coalition on primary votes was down three points to 37 per cent while Labor’s support was up 1.5 points to 30 per cent.

Independents took cities by storm last election. This time, they’ve got regional Australia in their sights.   :)

One Nation gained one point to 5 per cent and support for the minor parties category increased 0.4 points to 4 per cent.

There was no change in support for the Greens, at 13.5 per cent, and independent candidates at 10.5 per cent.

Roy Morgan CEO Michele Levine said a boost in support for Labor in four states gave the party an edge.   :)

“This week there were significant swings to the Albanese government in Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania that drove the overall result in favour of the ALP,” Levine said.

The Roy Morgan 51.5 per cent-48.5 per cent poll result would leave the election winner needing the support of minor parties and independents to form a government.

On Sunday, Opposition Leader Peter Dutton suggested a minority Labor government would fuel inflation through increased taxation and spending.

Albanese replied that inflation was going down: “When we were elected, interest rates had started to rise, now they’ve started to fall.”

The Roy Morgan survey of 1719 voters was conducted on March 3-9.

A YouGov poll released on Friday had Labor ahead of the Coalition for the first time in eight months on a two-party-preferred basis, at 51 per cent to 49 per cent.

Labor had not been ahead in a YouGov survey since July 2024.

Whiteknight edges himself to gay porn.

Edging is the practice of engaging in sexual stimulation to the point of climax before stopping and starting again. A person can perform it alone or with others, and it aims to extend or intensify sexual enjoyment.

Looks like consideration of a potato head with a fat arse has taken over people's fancy instead of the Albotemkin Village plan on shifting landfill on contaminated land which will still have asbestos and other things in it ...... truly the people are fickle... next week it will be something else...

Clearly the media and poll takers are easily swayed by vapid reporting...

The Threat of the allies of the orange maniac could swing an election.

It is also common in Australia for a government with seriously good economic credentials to hold office, This Labor government is the first to produce a surplus in 25 years and produces multiple surpluses.

The world trend has been to the right but we have all seen the US disaster unfold at the hands of the crazy ultra right.

I still think the crazy potato will win but you never know the people may wake up in time.

I saw the poll movement a day or so back ( see my thread).

Despite being completely out of touch and unlikeable ,and I could be describing Albo or Duddo.
The race to the bottom continues to gain pace.

No matter which one wins, we will still all lose!

Either sides needs to win the majority of seats.
National polls do not tell you much. Labor got in with less than 40% of the primary vote ( ie first preference) and has an absolute majority of 2.

Current composition of the 150 seat House of Reps:

   Labor (77)

Opposition (53) -   Liberal (39)   National (14)

Crossbench (19)

  Greens (4)
  Katter's Australian (1)
  Centre Alliance (1)
  Independent (13)

Vacant (2)[d]

The independents - mostly Teals - will not side with the Coalition even though they are mostly traditionally Liberal seats.  It will be a Labor/Teal coalition.

Albo bloated the Public Service:

Albanese inherited a workforce of 254,000 that had grown to 365,000 by last June
according to Australian Bureau of Statistics data

I checked here – the figures are correct:

June 2022

Normally that just means that News Ltd will have to step up their propaganda effort and publish more lies. I think we can expect a flood of bad Labor press in the coming days or weeks.

Yesterday morning, a resurfaced opposition leader grumped to Sunrise host Natalie Barr that "I wasn't absent from my community".

"I just think the fact that Jim Chalmers and Anthony Albanese are looking for political advantage at the time of a natural disaster reflects more poorly on them than anyone," he said.

Come on, buddy.

When you're a hard-playing opposition leader who in late 2023 wanted Mr Albanese to pull out of APEC so he could stay home and hand-apply ankle bracelets to indefinite detainees released by the High Court, and who last year was all for the PM referring himself to the National Anti-Corruption Commission over Qantas flight upgrades, you really do have to take the crunchy with the smooth.

Brilliant just brilliant  ;D

The figure above may be misleading.
The 2022 figure doesn't mention Dept. of Defence employees - soldiers.

Yes Bobby the 2023 figured incluse the defence force and the 2022 numbers don't.

These experimental estimates are based on Single Touch Payroll data, which includes defence force personnel employment and earnings within Commonwealth Government figures. Caution should be made when comparing them with historical survey estimates in this release, which exclude them.

Single touch payroll source
This is the first release of the Public Sector Employment and Earnings (PSEE). The PSEE estimates are compiled using Single Touch Payroll (STP) data sourced from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

The PSEE replaces the Survey of Employment and Earnings (SEE), which was collected directly from businesses/organisations as a sampled survey. The new PSEE series starts with the 2021-22 financial year.

Although similar, there are some key differences between these two collections, which are summarised in Data source comparison, SEE & PSEE, below. In particular, the STP-based estimates include defence force personnel.

The polls had Shorten way ahead of Scomo and it seems the Polls just depict the opposite of public opinion.
You watch. Dutton will win a majority.
