Well, they went without houses - evil white supremacist contraptions, houses - for 40,000 years....

Just imagine! Aborigines in remote areas finishing school, learning a trade and building houses for themselves!!

inconthivable

Whos' the federal Govt at the moment?  Ah yes the same ALP govt,, the one that cares so much for the remote Aboriginal Australian communities that they had to give them a race based  separate Voice to Parliament.

Another non delivered promise by Albanese - and people want to waste their vote on more of the same BS?

I know you would Bwyan - bs attracts bs.

Every remote community in Australia has federally funded and built housing , Services Australia presence or agencies, health services, education facilities in schools, grocery stores & other govt services & installations.

They get everything for nothing - pensions, welfare, health, education & services - in the middle of nowhere... yet still that's not enough.

Phuk off & phuk off Bwyan.

Perhaps housing is what they should use mining royalties for...

Quote:
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited the remote community of Binjari in March 2024 to announce $4 billion over ten years towards remote housing in the Northern Territory.

No new homes have been built in Binjari since, and families say overcrowding is getting worse.

Where is the money going?

According to the NT government, which oversees the spending, $107.7 million has been spent so far on capital works with 125 new or refurbished homes delivered across 28 remote locations.

$107.7 million for 125 new or refurbished houses doesn't sound like good value for money.

Is Labor giving kickbacks to their union mates?

If they want to live the tradtional lifestyle they should do it in Bark huts. ;)

So are the Tent City people with jobs ... just saying....

They're not Robinson Crusoe's Black man Friday, you know... must be tragic to have to wait for a free house with all the mod cons - air con and all.... and then have zero responsibility for upkeep etc...

FFS - when is this going to end?

Give 'em some land freehold - give 'em a house - leave 'em to it.  Make or break on a far better deal than anyone else starting out in this country gets or will get....

So's unemployment or pension....  :-?

In all fairness - you can't ask tradies to go out there and live rough without being paid something to compensate.  Maybe the best idea is pre-fab houses delivered on site .....

Thing is - if you add good solar and maybe communal wind farm and water tanks and septics/sewerage all that - chances are neglect and abuse(sic) will downgrade their performance rapidly.

All In All - I think the GAIA Mk I of mine should be set in train - and Abos out there trained up to work.....to assimilate without losing their 'heritage'....

Hands up those of you who lost their 'heritage' by working in Australian conditions and workplaces?  Don't be shy now!!

I recall a time in Qld where taxpayers would build them a house then the Abos would rip up the floorboards for firewood.

Fairly sure that's what should have been happening as well.

But no - that's their money to piss up against the wall and they still want all the other Govt welfare benefits.

That's exactly what happens - they don't or don't want to be trained to do any of the maintenance themselves.

They want the Govt to do everything.

Yet you see these videos of e.g. The Bush Mechanics

they can if they want to.
