Title: Re: Final debate Post by Yadda on Apr 27th, 2025 at 8:33pm 'Final debate' Whoever wins this 'election', Australia will lose. Tweedle dum. Tweedle dee. You know that it is the truth. For many decades, Australia has been circling the drain hole, of becoming a 3rd world status nation. Not so ? . Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 28:4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them. Modern day politicians seem not to understand such concepts. Modern day politicians are much more interested in marketing, and 'winning' the game. Runaway train. .....that, is what we are all riding. |

I've added a poll... do you want Welcome to Country for everything or not?
I was struck by that Digger who said some of his mates didn't come to the ceremony because of it. forget the Maori comparison - countless Maori fought in the World Wars and such and many serve in their armed forces - but they are 18% of the population there - not 3% ... on which note - Albo diluted their actual impact on population by his mass immigration. Ask yourself why!! His backroom cadre know that, so why do it, while at the same time handing out swathes lf land? Does Labor REALLY think that any future government of an expanding population of people not like us, accepting of genuine Aboriginal rights as we are, is going to accept these artificial handovers of masses of land and national icons and such? They are setting up the Abos for their own future 'breaches of treaty' - taking away their sacred Black Hills. The Trail of Beers could quickly become a Trail of Tears... |

Quips along the way:-
If inflation is 2.4% - why did pensioners get only $4.60 instead of around $26.60? If China had real influence, it would not need to try sabre-rattling..... countries would flock to do things 'their way'.... thus Chinese expansionism is due to a chip on the shoulder and is thus a clear and present danger. Renewables will not do the job and the hypocrisy is sending billions of tons of coal to China and India who are expanding coal power station numbers massively. On top of that the paradigm for 'harvesting' resources here is wrong and is rape of Australia, enriching parasites hiding in tax havens at the expense of every single Australian citizen. Ask yourself why that is permitted.. "The total cost of Australia's energy transition to renewable energy, including new infrastructure, grid upgrades, and potentially nuclear, is estimated to be around $625 billion. This figure includes costs associated with replacing retiring coal and gas-fired power plants and increasing electricity demand by 2050. " That costing does not include batteries for storage (let's allow that to hang in the still air for a while)................. but it does incude some unstated figure for 'potential nuclear'. (???) ... so let's look again:- "The cost of transitioning Australia's energy system to 100% renewables, according to CSIRO, is estimated to be in the range of $500 billion. This figure was initially estimated at a trillion dollars in 2017, but recent technological advancements have led to a significant cost reduction. " If Nuclear costs $600 Bn as claimed - and the CSIRO says maybe $60bn per station - for seven stations = $420 Bn, not $600 Bn. Clearly nuclear is cheaper and once established, does not need replacement of equipment every twenty years. "Modern nuclear power plants are typically designed for a lifespan of 60 years, but they can often be extended to 80 years with proper maintenance and upgrades." Three times as long as 'renewables' .... so divide the cost by three.... Dutton should not have craw-fished from abolishing 'work from home' - no public servant is paid to work from home. Back to the office!! We expect our bloated salary public servants to be at the coal-face. |

Labor and the Greens never tell us how much this renewable rubbish will cost they have basically given it a blank cheque of taxpayers money. Real world costs from recent projects that are running ![]() |

They spend billions on batteries that have 2500-3000 cycle life and can't run the country.
Solar is lucky to work for 12 hours a day in summer much less in winter. Panels should face North which if fixed lose efficency when sun rises in East then sets in the West. Some solar have tracking where panels rotate to face East in morning then move to face West in afternoon to improve efficiency not practical for large scale. Turbines need at least 7 knots to start working if there is no wind they produce nothing. ![]() |

A little off topic but isn’t it dreadful that it took Neo Nazis booing at a Anzac ceremony to have WTC put on the politicians agenda.
Shame Australia, pure shame! |

Howard was only the second leader to lose his seat. Scullin was the first. Both lost it over the same issue - workplace policies. If Dutton lost his, he'd the third. Not a big sample but it could point towards a trend. Tsk, tsk, tsk... ::) ::) |

I drove to NSW over the weekend, went down to Kingscliffe.
I was so utterly offended by the sign at the border... How dare they welcome me to my own country! I'm to triggered I'm going to boo the next person from NSW that I see... |

That's the Princes Highway from Victoria - the Dark Land where they massacre koalas and vote more in favour of voices in their heads ... but the message is the same - your angst is the result of too much addiction to the belief that Queensland actually has a chance in the State of Origin... Without the NRL and transfer to the better clubs - Queensland would still be nothin' .... and NSW ain't your country, bro - we'all do that petty tribal thing, you know... |

Indeed, Rego is one of the biggest costs everybody faces and it continues to climb as does every government fees, levies and registration. Maybe it’s time for a federally run registration scenario where people pay per kilometre. Why does someone who drives 20k a week have to pay as much as someone who drives 200k? |
