Yup. Socks spoils it a bit by trying to jump up on people and she is too big, heavy and strong for that.

Yes been there, we have a 35 kilo plus maniac Husky. He wants to play with other dogs but is way too rough. The previous one was king of the little dogs, he was so gentle.

Socks is actually gentle with small dogs but her height eventually stresses the little dog and before that happens I move Socks on. Height is dominance to a dog so Socks just standing there is exerting dominance.

For the same reason—height is dominance—I do not let Socks on furniture (but I will find her join me in bed if thunder and lightning etc has scared her.

Actually that would be YOU Jim Puddle Duck. In fact you (falsely) accused me of insulting a dog. I was in fact feeling sorry for it and I even explained why. It was because in every picture the dog in question looks absolutely miserable. Our Golden Retriever is soooo content and happy.
