Why aren't the Aus Democrats relevant any more?

Sad time in the Senate and politics in general (if you're a Democrat I suppose).  Just wondering where people think they might have gone wrong.  GST?  Have other minority parties stolen their "protest" votes?

What do you all reckon?

No idea. Too sensible maybe. I liked their environmental policy, but they didn't have the extremism or economic buttheadedness of the greens. I think they were just too prepared to make the unpopular decisions. They didn't pander to opinion polls.

People who can't distinguish between etymology and entomology bug me in ways I cannot put into words.

They had women leading them.
That was what went wrong.

And they stood for nothing.
