I've read Sophie's Choice, but didn't realise there was a movie out about it. It sounds like the movie was from a slightly different perspective.

That doesnt surprise me FD..

I read Stephen Kings The Shining..I thought it was a great book.

I then saw the movie and even tho' quite a bit of the book was cut out it was still a very good movie..

I think if anyone other than Jack Nicholson had played that part I would not have thought so tho'.

I just watch a dvd call "Chapter 27" starring a deliberately overweight Jared Leto. It an interesting movie about Mark Chapman - the man who assasinated John Lennon. Apparently he felt that he was the embodiment of the character Holden Caulfield in Catcher In The Rye.

3.5/5 stars

IMDB - Chapter 27

No. I'm visiting some friends in my birth town of Kuching, Malaysia atm. This Saturday I will fly to Chiang Mai, Thailand and will "check in" to Hotel Poverty on Monday. After that you won't hear from me for at least three months. I'm hoping to get a Sak Yant via the traditional bamboo method in between the monastery chores and practices.

Lol. No, and no.

Hotel Poverty is what I'm calling the monastery that I'll be staying at for three months. I was being funnny.  Wink

A Sak Yant is a traditional Khmer tattoo. It is applied in the traditional way - ink on sharpened bamboo which is pierced into the skin. Check out this link.

Im assuming its a yacht type boat..or some type of boat/sailing vessel anyway.

I doubt its a shark..just gauging by size and distance etc.

I just got home from seeing the Coen Brothers' new film "Burn After Reading" and they've followed up on "No Country for Old Men" with another beauty.  However, this one is a screwball black comedy with great performances from George Clooney, John Malkovich & Brad Pitt.

Malkovich plays an ex-CIA agent whose memoirs fall into the hands of two gym employees who try to blackmail him into buying them back.  The situation turns into a giant, comical, cluster bugger, which seemed like it may have been a meditation on the past eight years of the Bush administration. It's definitely worth seeing on the big screen.

Yes Ive heard good thing about "No Country for Old Men", another to add to my growing list of movies Ive yet to watch...

I watched "The Bucket List" recently..it was a comedy about 2 old men who had 6 months to live and they made a bucket lst..things to do before you kick the bucket.

It starred Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson..great actors both of them.
Its not a new one ( but recenltly released ) still a really good movie.

Great story and a good cry at the end.
