Grendal was an excellent contributor and is one of the reasons this board has become fairly popular.

Major, major, major mistake on your part if you really have banned him, FD. Even if he does insult people quite a bit, you should give him some allowance. That's just simply his style and we're all aware of it (I hope after all this time people are aware that he doesn't mean offense by it and is just scrambling to get his point across).

At least he engages in debate and does not pointlessly insult like most trolls do.

He's an original thinker and he has a good political brain. Creates interest in topics people would never usually spit on. Unban him, ask him to come back, get on your hands and knees and beg him for forgiveness.

I agree with everything DT said about Grendel - it's just his way and he brings a bit of life to a debate.

My personal opinion - no-one here now should be banned from this forum. There is a very good mix of people.

There was only one poster who should have been banned for unacceptable behaviour. It took about 2 years and dozens of complaints - and there are plenty of witnesses to attest to that.

I am no fan of banning people, but I did request cracker ban "purple, mad mel, IQs," or whatever they called themselves on the day, but that was for their action in posting pornographic pictures to go along with their revolting opinions, apart from extremes like that, I really think people should be given a go to express their views, even if we find them personally distasteful.

Now FD is pretty much of a similiar mind, from what he has shown, so unless Beo(Grendel) did something over the top, as another attention grabber(he is an insecure little petal), then I could not imagine FD banning him.

If you didn't have opposing views on certain subjects - the threads would be very boring.

I don't know if they're repetitive Sprintcyclist - I'm guilty of only reading bits and pieces at times. I have to admit I skip over some of the more technical/historical posts and that applies to a few different boards on Ozpolitics.

But I think most of the arguing here is pretty healthy. Even if you disagree with a person's views you are learning to understand why they have them.

I notice the pple on that poll are the most interesting and the very ones who add a bit of life to the forum..Why get rid of those who create interest and bring others in.?

Do we want a bland bunch of yes boring old yes men.?

It had become an old boys club until certain posters decided to post again...so Im puzzled why a good poster would be banned for adding interest and sometimes a good laugh to certain topics.

we know grendel..he doesnt offend us FD..so why..?

Typically FD will not reply to any of this.

And in defence of FD I have to say he is not an unfair man, never found him to be so in the past and he must have his reasons..Ill maintain that veiw if the ban is only temp.
