Some basic psychology. If you want people including kids to do something, the negative works quite well.

It's something that was explained to me at a conference once. There is a balloon or something floating in the room, say a pink elephant.

If the speaker says, "I want you to focus on the pink elephant" - a reasonably large proportion of people will look, but if on the other hand they say "Don't look at the Pink Elephant!" sure as anything, every single eye in the room is on the pink elephant.

It works for "Don't think about Pink Elephants" almost as well.

In the same way, "Don't Listen to Marilyn Manson" works like a charm.
