This is not a kindergarten - it's an adult forum. You can do what you like if it makes you feel in control and authoritative. If you think snookums and cuddlepie is appropriate - yet a slinging match (as you call it) isn't - well that's your prerogative.

Have a look at the difference when you go through "correcting everyone's homework" in bright red ink to when you're absent. It's such a distraction to the topic, but if it's attention you want - you got it.

If your forum dies off - that's your choice.

me having a joke around at the moment is isolated- I don't flood every thread with it do I? nor do I do it every time I post. so the comparison is hardly valid

yes it's an adult forum, but adults sometimes act like children as we continue to see.

it distracts from any form of constructive conversation

so maybe if people just abided by the rules- which basically are don't go around throwing insults at people- then my red ink wouldn't be everywhere

personally I find it pretty tiresome having to troll through messages modding all the time because people can't control themselves.

not to mention that I also get people messaging me asking me to remove certain comments and yet then complain when I remove other comments that are essentially along the same lines

people can't have it both ways.
