Blame France. Contributed more than any other country to Hitler's appeal, then went belly up in 6 weeks and everyone had to bail them out AGAIN. We should have let the Germans keep France and helped them take Moscow.

what cause hitler died on that day?

good riddance

What's your beef with Hitler, Gaybriel? (Serious question)

his slaughter of millions of innocent people, his war mongering, his personal beliefs etc etc

why - do you admire or dislike him?

So what if he slaughtered millions? How does it affect you personally? Why did it draw such a strong response from you? Why did you feel that you needed to shoot down Phil for his opinion? Why does everyone feel the need to isolate Hitler as the 'embodiment of all evil?' What makes you think that Hitler was the sole reason WWII started? What makes you think he 'slaughtered millions?'

Quite frankly, I admire him more than I dislike him. I think he was easily a very admirable human. There's many reasons I think that, but not what immediately springs to your mind (Ie. He only likes him because of his wacist policies).

'Good riddance' is hardly a 'strong response' and is more than adequately explained by his slaughter of millions of people. Why do you need an explanation for this? The fact that he liked kittens, or whetever it is you like about him, kind of pales into insignificance in comparison.

Yes it is. Especially given that Phil didn't even make it clear he was referring to Hitler. He could have been talking about his Grandpa for all we know.  I would have never noticed it unless Gaybriel didn't bring it up. If people were in here praising Stalin, people would not react as Gaybriel just did. Deep down you know it's true, FD.

So you're upset because Stalin isn't a well known? That is not a rational argument for 'lowering your stance' on Hitler, rather it is one for deriding Stalin and his supporters also, in the same way we deride anyone who still tries to defend Hitler.

Mass murderers aren't cool, no matter why they do it, but they would be interesting to have a beer with. War isn't always necessarily murder though is it?

The Stalin argument is the old Muslim one, "But the Christians BLAH BLAH BLAH."

I'm just wondering why you and Gaybriel react the way you do to Hitler even though he never did anything to you guys on a personal basis. Did he kill your grandparents or something?

No. I was just reacting to Phil's apparent defence of him.

"racist" not wascist... Roll Eyes

Hitler was a small man with tinymeat syndrome..'He had to start a war and slaughter a few milion pple to enable him to forget his syndrome..it would have been a lot less desructive if he just bought a really fast red sports car and a penis enlarger pump.

DT I think history books pretty well have him pegged as the one who started the war and killed over 6 million pple...its been kind of done to death dont you think.? You cant rewrite history sorry.

He is right up there with George Bush and Benson and Hedges.

Napolean Bonaparte was one of my favourite war mongers actually.

Stalin tried to get Jews too and died from diarrhoea and just because Stalin had somewhat better mustachios and actually slept with women to produce offspring does not make him any less stupid psychopath killing even more people then Hitler did. But while stupidity is the reason for jew hate it can express itself differently as well. I reckon that in comparison to Mao plus Polpot who did not care about Jews Hitler plus Stalin look like teenage wankers but then of course it can be argued that MaoPot had learned on experience of those who were before them.

hence why I asked and gave an off the cuff opinion. I think the death anyone who is in charge of mass genocide is 'good riddance', so why should hitler be any different?

the reason I know the day hitler died on is because it is my b'day- and I remember reading it in school and it just stuck in my head

not much more to it than that

can't believe people are so weirded out by me not wishing hitler was still alive...

by the way one needn't be personally affected by something in order to be morally outraged by it or emotionally affected by it either.

I actually think my response was fairly run of the mill.
