I'd have thought it clear that mosr people here have identified him as a fake...  no matter what ethnicity... end of story.

But he's not fake. He has appeared on the news before. He's just a weird dude with his own views.

I think Calanen is talking about the Manteghi guy, who is not the only person behind the Sheikh Haron persona anyway, there are others, and one of them is actually named Haron, also note that the Manteghi.guy appeared in Australian media claiming to be a moderate (not a whacked out extremist) who was supposedly persecuted because of his moderate views. So Calanen is full of it either way, as Manteghi is no extremist, and is supposedlly a Shi'a, which means he'd be diametrically opposed to al-Qai'dah, Mumbai and all the other stuff "Sheikh Haron" supposedly supports.

Calanen's analysis  of the situation is about as accurate as Manteghi's stories are credible.
