As far as I know, all religions claim to have evidence to back up their position on God(s). It is not that there is no evidence. What they should say is that there is no evidence that meats whatever standard they choose to apply.

They do????

I always thought that they worked on faith.

Would you care to expand on your statement with some examples of the claims of "evidence" you say religions cite?

I have no issue with religions working on faith, it is their thing, but it should be made clear to kids before they are brainwashed with religious dogma, that it is something they must accept on faith, that there is NO evidence to support their claims, just a feeling.

Obviously it is based on faith, but that does not exclude the existence of evidence. Using your analogy, faith is what causes a belief in God, but it is the eivdence that justifies the particular 'flavour' of God.

For example, according to Christian doctrine, Jesus demonstrated his religious authority by performing miracles in front of large crowds of people. I suspect it is a similar story for most religions.

-and King Arthur pulled a sword from a stone to prove he was the true king. William Wallace was a giant who killed 300 English soldiers with his bare hands. These stories are great. Of course we recognise that  they are probably the result of word of mouth accounts being embellished with other legends before being put to 'paper'.

Both of those men were great political and military leaders of their time (I'm not sure of the details about Arthur though). Jesus wasn't. Just because stories can become embellished, doesn't mean they did, or that we have to reject all historical evidence. It is the standard you apply that sets them apart, not the absence of evidence. Rejecting evidence and saying the evidence doesn't actually exist are not the same thing.

The Arthur you aren't sure about, is like Jesus, a character from a book, with zero historical records to support their actual existence.

At least we know William Wallace was a real person, we have "evidence" of that.

There is no fundamental difference between the different forms of evidence. The difference is that you accept some evidence, but not other evidence, based on some fairly complex, arbitrary and inconsistent standards. It is not a matter of evidence existing about one person and not for another. To say the eivdence doesn't exist is simply a lie.
