Anyway, its ironic that you have posted this verse..from surah Al-Nisaa. It is especially ironic that it is, as you say, 'one of your favorites'. Its a shame that you didn't post or read the next couple of verses following it. Or that you don't even understand it.

Monotheistic religions are 10 cents a dozen, but they all seem to hate each other. Life's too short for that.

Yadda? Omniscient? I guess if you're omniscient you can take a position on it. You just know what you know. I know what I know and I'm in perfect peace with that. I have a truly stupendous and awesome life already. That's why I don't spend every waking hour on here trying to tell other people how wrong they are and how much they are missing by not subscribing to my particular screenshot of the universe. Because if they are happy, I tend to let them be.

To be honest, I quite like the fact that there are many different types of people on this earth. I love people. I get on well with just about everybody. I do get grumpy sometimes, but I laugh it off quickly.

Maybe there is something beyond my perception. That's cool, but I don't really dwell on it because it doesn't concern me in any way or form. I prefer to immerse myself in living to the max - but if you knew me, you'd realise that I am no hedonist.

There is no point in

'reading'

the Koran, as such, because the Koran is a series of unstructured 'sound bytes', of Muhammad's sayings / pronouncements.

There is no narrative revealed in

'reading'

the Koran.

That is why you muslims must rely so heavily on the 'guidance' of your imam's.

In contrast, the Jewish and Christian Bibles contain a series of narratives, and these narratives can be read, and made sense of,
....even by 'children'.

The Bible is chock full of stories, and within many of these narratives are identifiable parables, analogies, and 'types', which we are meant to find - if we look.

And almost every one of these identified 'parables' relate in some way to man, his relationship with God, and God's plan for mankind's spiritual redemption.

And these 'types' are repeated again, and again - in the Bible.

But the 'blind' pass by.
