Cost of solar energy to match fossil fuels by 2013
May 20th, 2009 at 11:13am

It's good to read stories like this. 2013 is not very far off. Personally I think it may be optimistic, but I hope that Solar Energy will become competitive soon. The fact that the story is about PV panels is interesting.

At least there is one good story to come out of the economic downturn.

Good news indeed.

I wish I still bothered or remembered to record certain shows but I recall an Aussie inventor on New Inventors about 1-2 years ago who had improved either the absorbsion or conversion capabilities of solar panels by 300% or something. I have since been looking forward to more media information but it seems to have gone missing. Maybe he was mistaken.

Here comes the sun do do do do
Here comes the sun
And I say
It's alright

It seems like years since it's been here

Does that infer the price of oil will also rise ??
To meet the lowering price of solar panels ???

Well I think that oil doesn't really figure much in electricity generation. There will be impacts on the coal price, and electricity continues to increase in price.

From 1st of July 2009 in NSW price of electricity will go up by more than 20%, few more moves like that and solar power will be in par in no time at all.
