eggs for money
Jul 9th, 2009 at 1:03pm

Quote:
WOMEN could make money by selling their eggs for stem cell research under a proposal by one of the pioneers of Australia's stem cell regulations.

Under present laws it is illegal for women to be paid to donate their eggs to medical research, but the University of Melbourne's Professor Loane Skene says the regulations need to be overturned to find new cures, the Herald Sun reports.
...
Through overseas-based websites women can sell their eggs to infertile women in the US for $1500 to $3000, but Prof Skene said Australians would have to go to the US to be part of the deals.
...

I think they mean american dollars but even so it is less then the amount Australian government pay women to have a child but then there aren't further expenses.

Aldous Huxley imagined it already.
"The year is 632 A.F.
The Director of Hatcheries and Conditioning Center in the Central London is giving a group of students a tour of a factory that produces human beings and conditions them for their predestined roles in the World State. He explains to the boys that human beings no longer produce living offspring. Instead, surgically removed ovaries produce ova that are fertilized in artificial receptacles and incubated in specially designed bottles...."
