Film student on offensive in campaign to find virginJuly 26, 2009
A FILM student is prepared to use an image of the prophet Muhammad to help find two Australians willing to sell their virginity online.
Filmmaker Justin Sisely has already featured the Virgin Mary in his recruitment drive, using posters of her with male genitalia drawn crudely on her forehead in Sydney and Melbourne. He has also used the image online.
The Advertising Standards Bureau ruled the posters be removed after complaints the image denigrated the Christian religion, was an insensitive depiction of sexuality and was inappropriately placed in areas frequented by children.
Sisely, 29, said he would continue using the posters and image as long as they remained an effective way to recruit potential subjects for his film. The successful applicants, a man and a woman, will receive at least $20,000 each.
"I wouldn't change it because they rang me up and said 'We've decided that this image is inappropriate,"' he said.
Sisely said he was considering using an image of Muhammad in a new series of posters in Brisbane next month, but would not if the move incited violence.http://www.smh.com.au/national/film-student-on-offensive-in-campaign-to-find-vir...Now why would he *ever* be afraid of violence from the Religion of Peace™?
