So let's take stock of what the U.S invasion of Afghanistan has brought to that country...

1) Drugs:
Under the Talibaan, they were completely wiped out, and poppy growing was forbidden.
Under coalition, they have become rife. Afghanistan has become the centre of opium production for the world. And drug addiction has risen extremely sharply.

2) Women's rights:
Under the Talibaan, women were protected from rape.
Under the coalition, women are raped, abused, and end up setting themselves on fire.

3) Crime:
Under the Talibaan, people could move freely around most of the country, without fear of being robbed and killed.
Under the coalition, most of the country is lawless, bandits rule most of the country, half of them are part of the puppet government.

Mission accomplished? Job well done?

Quote:
KABUL (AP) - A U.S. military "kill or capture" list of 367 wanted insurgents in Afghanistan includes 50 major drug traffickers who give money to Taliban militants, U.S. military commanders told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

U.S. and NATO troops are attacking drug warehouses and militant-linked narco dealers in Afghanistan for the first time this year, a new strategy to counter the country's booming opium poppy and heroin trade. NATO defense ministers approved the targeted drug raids late last year, saying the link between Taliban insurgents and the drug trade was clear.

According to a report to be issued by the committee this week, U.S. commanders have no restrictions on the use of force against the targets, "which means they can be killed or captured on the battlefield," the report states.

afghanistan has ALWAYS been a major drug supplier to the world..

under the taliban women were publically hung or shot.

the taliban and other islamics are doing the murdering.

you are so biased it is incredulous.
same as all the muslims i have met.

I think we need a bit more than our roving Al Jazeera reporter Abu's word for it.

Also, if you are wondering, I'm having a lovely time in London.

Ta, ta ...toodle pip.

2. Women's right - who is raping them? AFghan  Muslims.

3. Who are the bandits? Afghan Muslims.

Whose fault is it all? Everybody else's but Afghan Muslims'. They are only children with beards and guns

i heard this morn on the wireless that the taliban are staging an average of 48 attacks a day.

they are muslims whose totalitarian rule is coming to an end.
this is the way of islamics.
go to a musliom chat room, make a few rumbles about mohammad, see what happens.
they're as mad as cut snakes

helian,

Got an independantly verified source for that helian? A lot of the stuff we heard about the Talibaan was total garbage, used to build up support for the eventual invasion. I've read stories of those who travelled there during Talibaan times, like Yvonne Ridley for instance, who paint a very different picture. I'd be more likely to trust those who actually were there, rather than some concocted story from National Propag... oops Public Radio.

sprint,

Actually didn't their rule come to an end about 8 years ago?

It seems more like they're on the re-rise, rather than the wane...

LOL

Well why didn't you go live there under the Talibaan Abooo.
I'll tell you why because their idea of an ideal lifestyle, freedom and democracy wasn't to your liking.

You shirked it while you could have lived in a muslim paradise on earth.  Well at least the men got a better shake than the women.

Another goose who can only think in extreme opposites.

Just because I challenged the propaganda levelled against them, doesn't mean I consider them to have established paradise on earth.

Squealer, you are a verbal incontinent when it comes to heaping insults on the west but become all post-modern and semantic when it is time to face the evil done in the name of Islam.

The only "goose" around here is you Aboo... you need to amend your ways or migrate.  I'm sure we'd all be happy to put in.  One way of course.
