Oh yeah... Forgot that it was pretty bloody funny as well!

I remember there was the story about his belief that he'd refined all human knowledge down to one word.

That word?

You'll have to read the book to find out!

Still haven't found that word...but I'm thinking "Fruit-Loop"

He'll always be able to at least reconcile himself to the fact that he was a successful (other)World record breaking race car driver...three lives in a row.

that other book I had read was Psycho-Cybernetics if anyone had heard of it. Can't remember much about it now but thought it quite good at the time.

Bloody hell, that triggered an ancient memory in me! Psycho-Cybernetics! And what's the bet you've read or skimmed "I'm OK - You're OK" and "Games People Play"!

I remember reading "I'm OK - You're OK" in my teens to blot out boring bus trips to and from the city.

One time a Goth looking chick saw what I was reading and took exception to it. "You know that's all fvckin bullshit", she railed, "You don't need to read that fvckin crap to know how to live". I listened to her as she raged on about mind-control conspiracies and her firm conviction that we're all 'good to go from within' and 'why give money to wannabe demagogues to tell you what you already know'. I remember looking into her blood-shot eyes and the scars on her arms wondering what she meant by 'good to go'.
