you seem to think fibre is the ULTIMATE technology. have you heard nothing of information packets carried by sub-atomic particles/waves or quantum behaviour that might even lead to literally instantaneous data transfer? you might even wonder about transmission FASTER than light but you wil lprobably not be able to google much on it and understand even less.

I think I'll put off buying a new car because I read something about an anti gravity device in Popular Science.

It_is_The_Light probably sells those.

Yes, but they smell like stale bong water and only work if you're wearing a dirty kaftan and sh!t encrusted sandals.

Yep. Anyway Terahertz radiation is certainly not used for data transmission.

It's still called Far IR by astronomers I think.

True.
You see how when I make a mistake I instantly say sorry.
Longweekend will never apologise.

Nup never, but he takes great delight in mocking other peoples mistakes.

This thread isnt about the inherent superiority of fibre which everybody acknowledges. it is about the stupidity and ignorance of the average NBN/Labor supporter who thinks fibre is 'special' because it runs at the speed of light. You cant expect to be taken seriously when you get such basic notions embarrasingly wrong. It was probably my fav moment on these forums to realise that some of you think wireless technology operates at the speed of sound and that copper wired internet is somehow around the same speed. You gott admit, it's pretty hard not to mock goobers with such a low level of technical knowlege. and it TOTALLY invalidates your technical reason for supporting the NBN. it is the equivalent of saying you like the NBN because you like the COLOUR.

It's the pot calling the kettle back again. In your own thread you've already been pulled up for your own ignorance and lack of knowledge on telecommunications.

This is just more evidence as to why the libbos should be kept away from making technical decisions.

I mean lets face it. After 11 years of the libbos people are still paying for dial up connections. What does that say about the liberal Government and its policies on telecommunications ? Sad

I think Nail & I are forgiving people.
If you publish an apology along these lines we may forgive you. eg

Quote:
I am sorry Bobby & Nail for pretending that I had
a science degree for the last 3 years.
I was just intimidated by you & tried to keep up
with the big boys

It was your camp who cancelled the Networking Australia program that would have had most on an ADSL2 connection by now.  Partisan blinkers are a wonderful thing.

For those that are already on cable supplied by Optus, Telstra/Foxtel etc no.  For those in regional areas on very unreliable satellite or dial up Undecided , I'm sure it would be very welcome.

It's not fair that I have to subsidise people who live in the
middle of no where with my taxes.
If they want 10/10 service then come & live in the big city.
It's a fact of life.
e.g.
Try & get a top surgeon in the bush for your next operation.
They all live in the city & they always will.
