I hope Australia and Australians ,for once ,could learn from others mistakes meaning. In Germany they have just about waited till they have nearly stuffed the country BEFORE they decided to support the Greens. Wouldn't it be nice IF Australia didn't wait. And supported the Greens support upted more  now Before to much damage is done.

The worldwide Green movement has been building over many years and has become the only real voice of the people.
If the major parties want to compete in the future they have to leave their wars, waste and corruption behind.
The worlds people have worked hard and stood by in disbelief as the old world order poured trillions of workers dollars into the failed multi national companies only to see the CEO's and corrupt politicians rape the funds for their own personal benefit.
The Greens are on the rise around the world because not only are they truly professional, democratic, courage's and progressive, they are not tainted with the putrid stink of the corrupt old world order.

In what we did the germans nearly stuff their country, other than invading poland / france?

The greens will either tow the german industrial line or cease to exist or really stuff the country by shutting it down.

Western countries are only existing economically on the good grace of the hard working taxpayers paying for the multinationals and pollies monumental greed and mistakes as well as China's workers savings..explain how it could be any more dire?
Lets be serious...a 12 yr old moron would have made less stuff ups than the old world order has over the past few decades.

Holland's Green-Left party had a record growth of members: 25% growth this year.

Caroline Patricia Lucas is the Green Party's first Member of Parliament (MP) in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. She was elected for the Brighton Pavilion constituency at the 2010 general election

Greens are increasing their influence around the globe.

Right wingers are doing well too

Geert Wilders and his Party for Freedom (PVV) have strengthened their position following last Wednesday’s municipal elections in the Netherlands. Polling 21.6 percent in Amsterdam’s satellite town of Almere, the PVV emerged the strongest party. It took second place after the social democratic Dutch Labour Party (PvdA) in The Hague. It was only in these two conurbations that the PVV stood candidates.

In what we did the germans nearly stuff their country,

==========================================

'High population density, industrialisation level, location in central Europe and dependence on fossil fuels for its energy supply have contributed to making environmental protection a public concern and a policy priority.
The decoupling of economic growth from the flow of several major pollutants over the past two decades is indicative of Germany’s remarkable achievement in reconciling economic growth and environmental objectives.

Important challenges remain, however: waste disposal, pollution from the agriculture and transportsectors, to cite a few priorities at national level; and regional pollution and climate change at international level,
where Germany has both a vital stake in ensuring progress and the will and capacity to help the international community. That it has accepted this international responsibility is a clear sign of its commitment to environmental protection.

Germany’s environmental concerns have also increased substantially with unification. Keeping to its ambitious environmental restoration schedule during a period of economic slowdown will, very likely, take a special resolve, given the heavy investments required. However, the benefits of “staying the course” are substantial, not only
for residents of Germany, but also for others, notably because such resolve and progress have a strong exemplary
value.'

Given major parties don't stick to their roots anymore but play a popularity game based on public opinion (almost on a minute-by-minute basis) I guess it's not that hard to see why people are losing faith in them.

Hopefully we can see a bit more diversification in Oz in the coming years. You right-wingers don't have too much choice here unfortunately. A less conservative more liberal right wing party would do well I think.
