Unfortunately, you don't seem to see that labour is seriously overpriced in Australia.

Yes you are right.   I don't see it.   Either do the unions.

The thing is Nail that if you get a BSc you end up being some
lab technician in a white coat getting paid less than the average wage.

some builder c.nt makes a killing from government stimulus whilst university qualified people live in squalor Sad

Gee, you have a real issue with builders dont you nail.

Considering multiple contracts went to the same building contractors, nice way to go by bashing an entire industry.

No one ever said either of you were too bright, or had the best interests of the country at heart.

Degrees such as a BA or a BSc are almost worthless.
They can only be used to get your foot in the door for more studies.
You shouldn't have to pay for rubbish like that.
Arts and science are only if you want a  dead end low paid job.

Very true, but there are plenty of dead-end, low-paid jobs that require people to think critically.

Hey Nail - there was a toilet at Monash University that had some graffitti
above a toilet roll holder saying:

BA  - take one    Grin

Don't you need a BA now days to say "Do you want fries with that"????

There was a joke I heard years ago.....BA stands for Bugger All, and PhD stands for Piled Higher and Deeper ...

The joke I heard was:
Science majors ask how it happened,
Arts majors ask why it happened,
and economic majors ask, do you want fries with that.

One of the reasons why a BA holds low value today is because almost everything is market driven. You can't sell things like philosophy and sociology like a hamburger.
Fortunately, knowledge has an uncanny knack for not bowing to money.

It's even funnier, because almost all of my class mates in high school, who went to uni, did Economics/Law or Law/Economics.....
