something different to talk about
Dec 1st, 2010 at 9:02am

SWITZERLAND endorsed a far-right push to automatically expel foreign residents convicted of certain crimes.
The move has dismayed critics who described it as a "dark day for human rights."

Some 52.9 per cent of those who voted were in favour, while 47.1 per cent were against, with the country's German-speaking majority largely backing the proposal.

Only six out of 26 cantons rejected it.

The move came exactly a year after Switzerland shocked the world by agreeing to ban the construction of new minarets, which was another proposal backed by the far-right Swiss People's Party (SVP).

As with their campaign against minarets, the SVP had launched an aggressive campaign to push forward their proposal for the expulsion of foreign criminals, saying that those guilty of certain crimes should be stripped of their right to remain in the country.

Another poster depicts a gangster-like man with the slogan "Ivan S., rapist, and soon a Swiss?"

"It's very simple: we think that people we welcome in Switzerland should respect the rules of this country," Fabrice Moscheni, president of the SVP in canton Vaud, said.

I, for one, find this resurgence of top-down racism deeply disturbing!

In some respects it is disturbing Eq.  But Moscheni does have a very valid point too.    It does have to be a two way deal.

dont you also find it deeply distubing that foreign nationals come into a country and disrespect the countries rules/laws.some even with racist intent.

most drug dealers and importers are of foreign extract..I dont call that respect for race or culture.

Cods, there are those who have no objection to that type of behaviour at all.  IMO, they`re as bad as the criminals, they must really hate Australia to so badly want to see it destroyed.

I get a bit annoyed when certain people expect their rights to be observed, over and above the laws of the land, and when someone complains  they are branded racists...

it pingggggggs me off to be honest and nem is the first out of the box just about every time..with that cat call.

what about them being racists...why is that different.??..

some of these people no nothing except fighting stealing killing since birth..they have lived their lives by the sword.. and when they enter someone else country they think they can bring all that with them....because they scream racist at the drop of a hat..and we all fall over.

I dont say what the Swiss have done it right but I dont say its wrong either... and I certainly dont call it racisim.. I am sure the same rule will apply to an Australian criminal as well. and god help us we have enough of those overseas... do they call racist when they get deported??

WHat exactly is racist about deporting convicted non-citizens?

Unsurprisingly, you jump to the stupidest, most shop-soiled and reflexively self-flagelling conclusion. You embody a type of person who could not have an original thought to save his life but must at every turn draw the same conclusion. Your mind is spinning around the ying of ideological autism and the yang of reflexive lazyness.

Anyway, we have a thread on this already elsewhere:

Australians like to think that they should be treated differently when they go to different countries. I admire the Asian and Arab countries for the laws on drugs, rape, murder and sexual deviancy. Compared to those countries, Australia is very soft and liberal. We don't have capital or corporal punishment. The Asians and Arabs are laughing at us. Playing the white man is stupid. It might surprise you, but I think we Australians have a lot to turn from the Arabs and Asians. We should adopt some of their laws. Introduce the death sentence for those who produce, deal and import and export drugs. Execute those who commit rape, murder and acts of sexual deviancy. Corporally punish those who commit shop lifting and other minor criminal invasions like home invasions.

WTF!?

Forget the "racist" label - this guy is an "extremist"!

Meantime, the mind boggles over where he would draw the lines on "sexual deviancy"...

I think its a great move.  When you come to Australia, you agree to abide by the laws of this country.

If a foreigner, even if granted citizenship is convicted of murder, rape and pedofilia for example upon the completion of their sentence should be deported.  Living in this country should be a priviledge, one that has been abused by those who came here to supposedly get a better life only to erode our lawful way of life.

I have ZERO sympathy for anyone who commits serious crimes.

"Extremist" is a term created and used by the internationalist regime to discredit the opposition just liek the term "racist". What is so wrong with being "extreme". We should have the death sentence and we should have corporal punishment.

As for sexual deviance.....paedophiles, homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals, transvestites, people who look at and have child pornography and people who perform sexual acts on animals.

In your view, are dress-ups, role play and/or oral and anal sex betwixt heterosexuals acts of sexual deviance - or are they unworthy of execution...or corporal punishment!?

What about phone sex?

What about sexting?

What about prostitution?

What about the use of feathers and/or electric devices in the bedroom?

Hey, would you be rewarding or punishing heterosexual sado-masochism by withholding execution or corporal punishment!?
