Yes he does and when he settles into office, I'm sure he will.

Seems that teh champagne socialist wants Ted to fix everything overnight for what Brumby has failed to do during his partial reign of 3 years.

The only way is to get the violent scum into jail.
They shouldn't be let out either if they are still a risk to the community.
If Baillieu is serious he'll do that.
If not we're just seeing another liar in action - no better than the weak laborites.

It's time people could travel on the trains at night or have a quiet beer in the city
on Saturday night & not be:
stabbed, robbed , raped or murdered.
Many people are being glassed in the face
or getting arms chopped off by machete wielding thugs in night clubs.
It's getting too dangerous to go out clubbing.

John Brumby is a weak little man.
He should have gone to the Dandenong Railway station at night to
see how long he'd last before he was robbed or stabbed.
He would sit in his air-conditioned office totally oblivious to what was going on.
He reminded me of Marie Antoinette when she couldn't understand that people were hungry.

Ted Baillieu has got to do better.
We should have a Victorian crime section on this forum to track Baillieu's progress.

Well Ted can only do better than his predecessor.

The Victorian Government is accusing the Coalition of backing away from an election pledge to put armed guards trained by Victoria Police on all metropolitan railway stations after dark.

The Age newspaper reports Opposition Leader Ted Baillieu now admits this is an "indicative" promise, as the Police Chief Commissioner would handle the guards' deployment.

Public Transport Minister Martin Pakula has seized on the comments.

"Eight days out from the election he's starting to parse his words, he's starting to wriggle and fudge," he said.

"What they are now saying is 'We will provide a pool to the Chief Commissioner and the Chief Commissioner will decide where they go'.

"That is not what he's been saying for the past 12 months."

Speculative, rumour mongering, & baseless.
Has John Brumby lied? Oh that's right he's no longer there.
Has Julia Gillard lied?
We know she has as she renged straight after the election.
We also know that Julia Gillard's policies have all failed.
Have any of Ted's policies failed?
The guys only been there less than a month and really it is ridiculous for any such expectations.

Too many times the poor Brumby turfed-out Government used speed cameras to raise revenue and not to prevent speeding.

The message is "feel free to speed in Victoria, except for these areas which have speed cameras"

Of course, whether THIS policy is

No its not, its sensible.

Victoria under Brumby and the grease monkey used speed cameras to raise revenue.
Other states have a speed allowance of 10%, Victoria doesn't.
Other states have a lower death toll rate on the roads than Victoria.

Clearly it wasnt working.

Speed cameras are about SPEED PREVENTION in hotspot areas, not hiding behind a bush with a camera.

A good move by Ted and if I was in Victoria he would most likely have got my vote too.

The "Free to Speed" State

Now THIS could solve Lord Baillieu's current major dillemna over a new slogan for Victorias registration plates

"VICTORIA - The Sporting Capital and "Victoria - Four Seasons in One Day" are among slogans for the state suggested by prominent Victorians, as the Baillieu Government searches for a new catchy slogan after ditching Victoria: The Place to Be.
The new Coalition Government is calling on Victorians to offer ideas for a new catchphrase that can be used on licence plates and government correspondence from early next year.

Ron Walker has suggested "Victoria - The sporting capital", while athlete Tamsyn Lewis proposed "Victoria - Four seasons in one day’’, "Victoria - The world’s most livable state" or "Victoria - Sporting capital of the world".

John Burns this morning said the slogan should be "Victoria - The Eureka State".

Comedian Dave Hughes proposed "Victoria - Smile for the speed camera".

The highway from the north of Melbourne to Albury is good enough for higher speeds than the 110 km/hr at present. It looks like an autobahn. I would say that 140 km/hr would be o.k.
