Well then she should get on with it instead of slavering round Oprah Winfrey in such a cringeworthy manner.

Mr Rudd laid the bulk of the blame for the leaks on the US.

"Let's not mince words that their diplomatic communication system was inadequately protected," he said.

He also gave backing to comments by Ms Gillard , for which the Prime Minister has been criticised as many thought she was referring to Mr Assange, that there had been illegality in the WikiLeaks affair. "Well, as I've looked carefully at the statements made by the Prime Minister on these questions it's quite clear that the Prime Minister was expressing concerns about the illegality of actions which in my view refer to stuff in the United States," he said.

Some posters around this place are hillarious. It's like they so desperately want things to be a certain way that they will over look pretty much everything in an attempt to convince themselves it is indeed that way.

The opening post in this thread is a clear example of one such poster.

Are you referring to Buzz? He is still trying to think there is a labor govt in VIC.

We were thinking more along the lines that you are hillarious. You still think that the Federal Labor Goverment is illegitimate.

If it is illegitmate why doesn't the opposition take to to the High Court?

WTF ?

I want to know why Gillard has not come out and demanded the UK not hand over one of our own to a foreign country.

Jesus, we wouldnt hand back a person to the US until we had guarentees and he was convicted of manslaughter.

Why isnt she on the phone demanded the protection of one of our own from a country in the Commonwealth.  We all know once Sweden has their hands on him next stop is the US.

Her slience on this is disgusting.

If she has time to meet Oprah, she has time to pick up the phone.

Julia Gillard can't do that as she has already labelled him as a criminal.
As such it would mean a(nother) flip flop.

The meeting with Oprah was all just a 'look at me' photo opportunity. Julia Gillard learnt all the tricks of that and then some from Kevin Rudd.

Did he start this thread?

No

The classic buzzanddidj OP generally has a bit more substance in the mix - and he tries to avoid the Murdoch Press as a link to some kind of politically unalighned journalistic credibility

Recommended read here;

Assange in prison…whilst war-mongers roam freely
December 8, 2010 by nasking

“It’s a jungle out there“…so goes the theme song from the popular series Monk.

And so it is.
And at this very time the war-mongering beasts that have chomped & chewed their way to the top…those who have sucked our rivers & lands dry of diverse life, nutrients, and their natural way…have created massive factory farms & feedlots straight out of a horror film…whilst raining bombs down on the children of the future in order to keep building more bombs, profiting from this obscenity by way of both the armaments and rebuilding of the very same infrastructure they levelled…those who have enslaved workers across the planet by way of exorbitant house prices and grotesque rental charges…and crashed, rigged economies that see pension ages upped, company pensions reduced drastically by way of bankruptcies & with the assistance of some large unions…and poisoned & fattened, like pigs before the feed, generations…those who hate to be regulated…and luv their tax contribution to be low…
these corporate aristocrats & their political & judicial puppets are now about to feed Wikileaks’ founder Julian Assange to their lions…in order to protect their interests.
