All this inqusition stuff is lovely, however it proves nothing in the case, and both nail and bobby have used it as an opportunity to bash the Church.
Will you be taking the same line on anyone of German descent for their actions with the Nazis, or against the British for theirs to our own Aboriginal people as just a couple of more recent examples of massive human rights abuses.
However it is still all irrelevant and doesnt change the facts.
The only facts we have is a woman left her house to a church in Hawthorn, a church that in Australia has never been nor its priests been investigated or charged for any illegal acts.
Verge - you're quite right.
The church will win this case & all of the evidence about
the inquisition would be inadmissible in court.
I was only annoyed by Longweekend's denial of the inquisition
which to me is worse than a denial of the holocaust.
On the other hand it still annoys me that this Catholic Church wants everyone
to sweep their history under the carpet.
I don't think people would be so ready to hand over property & money
if they really knew the truth about what happened.
Also - people from all churches were doing things like that in those times.
They were more barbaric than the romans who crucified Christ.
So much for their message of love - sitting on a pointed pyramid
suspended by ropes -
how could they even think of doing something like that?
